Neisson Rhum Vieux BIO (LMDW) Batch 2 2023
Smells more like fruit schnapps than you'd expect from an aged Martinique rum — a bright cloud of citrus and pear, with roasted hazelnut and a light vegetal edge. The palate turns round and gently sweet, alcohol tucked in well at 51.6%. The catch nearly everyone names: it's young, so the oak and depth of older Neisson just aren't here yet.

How does Neisson Rhum Vieux BIO (LMDW) Batch 2 2023 taste?
Aggregated from 48 community reviews.
Bright, young agricole with a great nose Most agree the nose is lovely — citrus, nuts, sugarcane — and the alcohol is well integrated. But it drinks young and short, and several felt it doesn't reach Batch 1.

This is a quite interesting rum! The nose is a mix of notes from fruit schnaps, sugarcane, hazelnut, citrus and almond. In mouth it’s very balanced and much fruiter, sweetier. The alcohol is integrated very well. Also the barrel stays in the background. The finish is long, dry and delicious. I would say, by far the best of this rum.

A very young rum, as the color shows. Plenty of citrus and grassy notes on the nose, therefore very fresh and youthful. Nothing special. Then crisp and spicy in the mouth. The best part is the finish. Tingling lemon, grassy.🍋🍋 I'm a big fan of this distillery, but this one disappoints. It somehow doesn't come close to the great Batch #1. 185€ for this bottle?😠Not like that, Neisson. Edit: In the glass again today, really not good. A cheek.

Basically a solid rum, but not quite to my taste at the moment. Unfortunately, the finish and aftertaste are relatively short. From memory, I've had far better Neissons in my glass.

#5012 31.12.2024 Relaxing with the last samples of the year 😊 Nose Light, round, sweet, fruits, light nutts, light wood, spice, light vegetal, faint caramel. Palate Oily, light, sweet, round, light nutts, sugarcane, light vegetal, spice, faint mint, light honey, fruits. Finish Medium long, light, sweet, round, light wood, sugarcane, faint herbal, light chocolate, dried fruit. Again a super well balanced release that most people can drink. Agricole notes are very subtle in my mind. The empty glass has light orange, raisin and faint cinnamon.

Still tastes very young. Lots of floral notes, I miss the typical more mature notes of wood, nut and tropical ripeness.
Review by Jarek
Very young Agricole, fresh, fruity nose with citrus fruits. Reminiscent of a fruit brandy. Alcohol is very well integrated. Not bad, but also not outstanding and does not come close to Batch 1.
Review by Mentalo
Beautiful round young Agricole with lots of floral notes, citrus fruits and pepper. Alcohol is well integrated. Some depth is missing. Wood notes are missing. The longer matured Neisson offers more complexity.

On the nose, I first notice strong nutty aromas followed by the typical herbal notes. The taste is surprisingly round and pleasantly drinkable for a rum that has probably been aged for a very short time. I really like it.

Doesn't really appeal to me. Young, bright and fruity on the nose with pepper and lime. Sugar cane, lime, pepper, vegetal and citrus zest on the palate. Tastes like Agricole - certainly good, but not my profile.

Review by Martin Ekrt
Vůni dominují citrusové plody a snad nějaká ovocná pálenka. Připomíná mi to taky brut de colone. Chuť je svěží rostlinná, sladká, jemná s citrusy a hruškou. V závěru citrusové plody, ořechy, muškátový oříšek a je to celkově hezky zaoblené.
