TRC Enmore Guyana Single Cask Rum REV REV 1994
A slow neat sipper, best given time in the glass to open up. Expect dried plum, dark chocolate, leather, tobacco and burnt cask, with a long, slightly bitter finish. Several tasters catch fresh blackcurrant lifting the dark, malty core. Most agree this REV sits near the top of the 1994 vintage — though a few feel the wood is pushing past its peak.

How does TRC Enmore Guyana Single Cask Rum REV REV 1994 taste?
Aggregated from 47 community reviews.
Deep, woody old Enmore with prune and leather One of the best-loved 1994 REVs here. Rich prune, chocolate, leather and spice with well-integrated alcohol. The catch: heavy wood and a bitter edge some find just past its prime.

Edit compared to the 27 year old he unfortunately loses nuances but still a hammer rum Once again an absolutely more than successful bottling from TheRumCask. I am enthusiastic about one of the best REVs from 94. For the price, I think the performance delivered here is completely justified.
Review by Mirco
Top Rev, I like it very much. Compared to its predecessor, I was worried that we were going too much into bitterness. This concern was unfounded and it turned out to be another sensational bottling with typical REV notes.

Very nice bottling again. However, I feel like we have surpassed the peak for the 94 REV vintage, looking at the latest releases. While this one is a good pick from TRC, it is very wood/leather/dark notes forwards missing out on the dried fruits which put some of the prior bottlings at the very top for me. That said: I‘d drink this one happily every day. :)

Great REV. Lots of spicy herbal notes. Dark chocolate and dried fruit (plum , currants). Some leather and burnt barrel . Oily heavy texture on the palate. Needs some time to open up but then quite tasty .

"Blue hour" reinterpreted for a change: in a daring blind crosstasting with the now considered Unicorn REV 1994 from Wild Parrot (RX7680). Well, one glass content was more appealing on the nose and palate, deeper and more intense than the other, but both incredibly attractive, dark and malty. And when I looked under the glass after pre-labeling, the more appealing rum was the legendary WP. But - and now some may be disappointed or surprised - I perceived the differences to be minimal, the rums were hard to tell apart, especially olfactorily. Ultimately, only the longer, roastier finish of the WP tipped the scales to give it 1 point more than the TRC. One can see this assessment but also very positive: Both rums are absolute top class and the new TRC turns out to be a real stroke of luck, can play for me among the 94 REVs at the top. Congratulations! Update 2023-10-14 (Day after initial tasting): SAKRILEG! But it really is an empirical fact that the TRC keeps the great typical REV smell significantly longer and more intense in the emptied glass than the WP. And that is clearly worth me an upgrade of 1 point, so that now between the two compared REVs 1994 TRC and WP is equal - who would have thought that before! (There I was probably a bit hasty with my rating yesterday and should have done it like @Kevin - always also smell the emptied glass!) Blind Crosstasting definitely recommended to imitate, am curious about the impressions of others. 😉

This is an excellent REV that fits in seamlessly with the 94s...and relatively far ahead. The high alcohol content transports the aromas perfectly. The wood influence is now clearly noticeable and this vintage should not be aged much longer! A great anniversary bottling from TRC, my highlight!
Review by Oliver
Heavenly nose - intense, toasty dark, leather and some black currant. On the palate, the high expectations can be met - really good REV! Alcohol very well integrated and pleasant bitter tones. Looking forward to the cross comparison.
Review by Timo Groeger
Wow, excellent rum, really great. Has a nice woody nose in which you can also smell malt. It comes across as dark. On the palate, there's also a hint of dark chocolate, leather, mocha and liquorice. However, it should not have been stored much longer.
Review by mto75
the Nobilis 94 Enmore REV / 28 yo competes against the TRC 94 Enmore REV / 29 yo. The higher ABV of the Nobilis is definitely noticeable, but not distracting. Both are nicely balanced, with the typical markers of dried fruit (prune), tobacco, malt, herbs. The TRC comes across a bit more red currant. Probably due to the higher ABV, the Nobilis still seems a bit more sweet-caramel, likewise on the palate. Both top, but the TRC I like (today) still a nuance better.
Review by Lot-NAS
What a dram, sweet and spicy, balanced without any off-notes and just the right amount of wood. The alcohol is also integrated pretty well but I preferred it with a few (!) drops of water. Doing a re-visit with another sample, it even gets closer to 9.2.
Review by LukaŽiga
9:On the nose, the first impression we get are dark and thick notes of dried fruits as currants and apricots, dates, prunes, leather, burnt, charred and toasted wood, roasted nuts, burnt sugar, some vegetal notes as eucalyptus, menthol. As we air it, darkness linger on, as we find cocoa, walnuts, black tea, cherry, fruits melt into a marmelade with cinnamon or are stewed, fermented and tropical for a while with a hint of smoke. We believe, that we have a tasty brioche with juicy jam in front of us. Resting helps for discovering another layer of notes with brine and herbs, as we get a feeling of a soy sauce now. 8,8:On the palate, the attack is spicy and roasted with cinnamon, pepper, burnt sugar, charred and toasted wood, a bit medicinal, then fruity with dried dates, raisins, prunes, perhaps figs and thick with dark molasses, licorice, black tea. Sometimes we get a feeling of a thick soy sauce, a bit astringent.... There are also notes of leather, mocha, dark and bitter chocolate after resting the rum, as it becomes briny and vegetal with menthol and eucalyptus. Balanced, but intense notes for our tasting buds... 8,8:The finish is long, dry with dried fruits, roasted, charred wood, bitter cocoa, leather and tobacco. It is thick and dark, as notes like black tea, soy sauce, brine and vegetal from palate linger for a long time....
Review by TheRhumhoe
Despite its advanced age, this Enmore delivers a most honorable performance. The nose develops dark, heavy aromas. There's lovely fruitiness on prune, plum, blackcurrant and raisin, but also woody notes accompanied by dark chocolate, coffee, walnut, leather and malty, spicy notes of licorice, pepper and cinnamon. Cola and molasses add sweetness, while black tea, floral and herbaceous notes add freshness. A complete and delightful olfactory profile. The palate is rich and opulent: prune, raisin and black tea are heavy, followed by ample notes of dark chocolate, coffee, ultra-dark wood with malt, leather, warm spices (licorice, chili, cinnamon) and roasted notes. Tobacco, herbal notes and burnt sugar only amplify this gourmet mouthfeel. The alcohol is superbly well integrated. The finish, however, is a little short and effete compared to other REVs, surely due to long and intense aging, showing the age limits of the REV profile. Overall, the same aromas are present, but with more bitterness and a drier finish. An extremely pleasant, rich and elegant rum, confirming the almost legendary status of Enmore 1994.
Review by Jarek
Very tasty, typical 1994 REV profile. Quite fruity (prune) and toasty on the nose. On the palate, the dried fruit notes are in the background, roasted aromas, spices and wood take over. The rum should not have remained longer in the barrel, otherwise the wood influence would have turned unpleasant. Addendum, REV tasting of the Franconian Tasting Gang November 2024: compared to the 27 Rum Cask, I hardly notice any difference on the nose, perhaps slightly more in the spicy direction. The difference on the palate is a little more pronounced. I like it even better today than last time.

#4464 11.11.2023 Enjoying a few samples before I have to give a tasting close to my home. Advantage is I can walk there and back really fast so I can participate as well. Ooooh, what a nice release. Intense and well balanced, what more can you ask for in this world. I knew this was going to be good, but it's really good. Medium fruity profile with an intense palate in good balance. Fruity with spices, wood and a light licorice touch. The palate is oily and kind of refreshing. The finish is long, intense and medium dry with chocolate raisins. Draws wonderful curtains in the glass. The empty glass has stronger chocolate and licorice as well as a light coffee note.
Review by Johannes
An excellent REV that has everything a first class REV needs. I am looking forward to a comparison with others soon....
Review by Jakob
Great REV with a beautiful presence on the palate. The nose initially has the expected notes of prune and leather, but paired with a great fresh fruit note reminiscent of redcurrant. On the palate, in addition to prune, leather and barrel impressions, the alcohol is also recognizable, but this suits the rum well and brings out a pleasant intensity. All in all, a great release that doesn't have to hide in the wider field of 1994 REVs. Excellent!
Review by Nivius
Plum, tobacco, molasses and licorice, long, bitter finish - I can't write too much about this rum, except that I think it's perfect!
Review by Serge
Super REV 🤤 drank without direct comparison but found it very, very tasty. Either everything tastes good to me - because I've been drinking extremely little recently - or it's a blast 😂 I'll take the second half of the sample with me for a more active drinking time.
Review by Lukas Jäger
REV in the glass = REV in the whole room! What a scent that spreads from the glass over the entire room! Strong nose that delivers a surprising amount of blackcurrant for me! A REV that is rather on the fruity side, unlike some herbal bombs lately, and thus very pleasing to me! On the palate then neat dark, bitter-roasty and woody flavors, which unfortunately can not come up quite so intense-complex fruity. Seems to me the zenith in the barrel for REVs seems gradually passed. Great REV, but clearly nose >> palate, so it's not up to the REV top for me personally today.
Review by Rodolphe
Review by F.L.O.
Tried it for the third time and confirmed the 9.1 for the third time. Awesome part ! Licorice, wood, fruit...especially plum...simply REV with a lot of body. The bottle was only expensive for me, otherwise it would be in front of me now.
Review by Mopar Rules
Demerara! The coloring adds a very nice sweetness and a flavor of caramel in addition to the typical demerara character of dried fruits, wood, and toasted cask
Review by Pavel Spacek
It took me a few minutes to find the scratch on this flawless Enmore 94. Could be little bit less watery. ... Enmore - drive still, now just a working still. Probably the only wooden still in the world that is very popular. The Enmore rums have a flavour of ash, leather, heavy wood, which will delight especially the lovers of whiskey. And if in the traditional Guyanese way the producer adds a little molasses to the rum, you have a unique very distinctive and heavy rum in the bottle. One of my favourites.
Review by Buddudharma
Review by ilRummista
A very good 1994 Enmore REV. Rich, powerful nose, with chocolatey hints and lots of forest, especially currants. The palate is dense, and the roundness we find on the nose is even more evident. The alcohol is well integrated. The finish is a great solo with very pleasant notes of bitter chocolate, brine and dates. I love Enmore 94s and this rum is definitely one of the best expressions of it even if one or two points lower than the next Enmore Rev 94 that will be bottled by Distilia and that I had the pleasure of tasting in preview.
Review by Johnny Rumcask
Herbs, wood, tobacco notes, some pencil, burnt coffee, bitter notes. The rum needs a lot of time in the glass to open up. Strongly astringent, it pulls the whole mouth together. Very exciting rum, not an easy sipper, almost exhausting. I personally found it too long in the barrel and borderline bitter, less bitter with longer standing time. Alcohol could be better integrated.

Gaumen: Voll, direkt, intensiv. Frucht, Gewürze, Tannine und Holz eher dezent. Ewiger Abgang. Geiles Teil.

Nase: Karamel, dunkle Beeren, Gewürze (Zimt, Nägeli), Gaumen: Algarve, Rauchig, Gewürze auch etwas getrocknete, Schokoladenbohne, Leder, Alkohol gut eingebunden, sehr gut gemacht aber irgendwie einfach
Review by Arnsen

Nos plný čaje, švestek, čokolády, kuže a tabáku.
