The nose is heavy on dark notes with limited notes of dried fruits. Herbal notes and black tea also show up to the party. On the plate this release is very well balanced an elegant. That is looking at it stand alone. In a cross tasting it feels a bit „light“ with less intensity compared to other release. Outstanding is a extra hint of sweetness and elegant herbal / tea notes.

A rum tasted at the GRF in 2024. An interesting nose, woody and roasted with a touch of menthol that balances and refreshes. On the palate, the aroma of varnished old wood dominates the roasted and dried fruit notes. The finish is too short for a rum of this class. But the old wood lingers for a very long time. An undoubtedly good rum, but I'm a little disappointed. Yet it tells a lovely story of an old sailing ship, adrift and abandoned by its crew.

Very tasty REV, immediately very accessible thanks to the alcohol content at a slightly higher drinking strength. Great balance of dried plums, leather, licorice, wood, spices...the REV profile presents itself in exquisite form. An excellent release.

Insanely cool and super palatable REV. Dark chocolate, coffee, prunes, floral notes of lavender and Earl Grey tea. Extremely well-balanced and pleasant to drink with the perfect alcohol strength. Top rum!

#5406 18.06.2025 Enjoying a few samples after work while relaxing in front of the telly 😊 Nose Intense, wood, light roasted, plum, light anise, light earthy, light tar, light cherry, light mint. Palate Oily, balanced, fresh, intense, wood, light roasted, light chocolate, spice, light tar, faint rubber, light leather, faint mint, light salty, plum, faint smoke. Finish Long and warm, wood, roasted, light salty, light earthy, licorice, light citrus, prunes, light leather. Empty glass Prunes, light chocolate, light mint, light leather, light coffee, faint rubber and tar. The longer it rests the more it opens up! German Rum Fest 2024 sample.

And then a nice Enmore to finish, also great despite the rather low ABV. But you get what you expect, a very roasted rum. Coffee and dark chocolate dominate here, with a bit of wood as well.

Compared this one again in a direct comparison with the new 1994 REV 31 years from TheRumCask. Unfortunately, it couldn't quite keep up, a very good bottling but towards the end, it feels a bit thin in comparison. Still, a high level.

Nice REV bottling: dark, powerful, herbal with a pleasant sweetness. Also notes of leather, black tea, and tobacco. Alcohol well integrated. Overall really well done. Gets an excellent 8.9.

Tasted at Rhumfest Paris 2026 at the Premirum stand, where I had a great time! I loved this Enmore. The oak is there without being overpowering. I found the nose quite soft and a bit lacking in exuberance, but the palate is superb.

Super pleasant and palatable REV. The dried plum stings your nose right from the start - wonderful! There is also wood, roasted aromas, dark chocolate, coffee and leather. Black tea lingers for a very long time on the finish.

Compared to the 94Rev tasted by Trc ...., it seems so flat that I almost gave it even fewer points. But on its own it definitely has the typical REV markers of plum, chocolate, tobacco and leather and definitely has a complex fruitiness/maltiness that I find difficult to define more precisely. In itself a really great rum, but compared to the TRC it seems a little alcoholic and thin - I would probably have rated it much higher without the direct comparison.

A surprising amount of flavor for the low percentages. Rather less fruity, less plum, borderline woody and bitter.
Review by CaRaph
This rum is very dark. The nose is quite smooth, not as strong as with higher ABV rums. Herbal, floral and woody notes, along with wood, dried fruits and prune. There are also coffee and chocolate tones. Palate gives dried fruits, wood, with chocolate, spicy and iodine notes. The alcool is more present. Finish medium to long, with coffee, licorice, and chemical notes. It's a very good rum, a slightly higher ABV wouldn't have been bad though.

Tasted at UK RumFest 2024. Tried alongside the White Cat. Both were great and the Black Cat the slightly better of the two. Interestingly both rums were on the list to be bought with Golden Tots but the team on the stall were happy to offer tastings for free.

Very tasty in itself, but somehow lacks a little strength.
