Savanna Unshared Cask for Belgium 2010
A slow evening sipper at 60.5%, best neat with a little air. Members find grape, green apple and red fruit from the Armagnac cask sitting on woody, herbal, minty spice — several even mistook it for an old agricole. The catch: a medicinal eucalyptus edge and, for some, less of the tropical fruit Savanna usually brings. Powerful, occasionally a touch hot.

Superb nose of red fruits, grapes and apples. Very Armagnac-infused, magnificent palate with pineapple and a slight menthol note. The best of the 4 Unshared 2023s.

Very good, cognac finish rounds off the wild distillate nicely.

The rums from the Savanna distillery are some of my favourites. I recommend everyone to try especially the higher ester pieces like Grand arome or HERR. You haven't felt so much fruit in a few little drops of liquid for a long time.

zlatohněda vůně hutnější, typická Savanna, tabák, červené ovoce, černý rybíz, borůvky chuť silnější, hutná, červené ovoce, třešně
Review by ...and a bottle of Rum.
Nose: cedar wood, minimally smoky... maybe even cigar box. Some vanilla and roasted nuts. Wonderful. I like it. Earthy and settled. Palate: Same. Alcohol is well integrated. Reminds me a little of old Agricole or the molasses version of Isautier. Gränzgänger - I would probably have blindly categorized it as an Agricole. Well, it's a lot of fun. Hm, do I need a bottle of this after all?

Really great traditional savanna. Armagnac, grape, green apple, strawberry, mint, burnt caramel, dark chocolate, subtle chili and overall simply very balanced. Slightly reminiscent of the Maputo, only much "lighter". Beautiful thing!

Relatively little fruit. Lots of spice and depth from the Armagnac finish. Dry, toasty finish. Very nice bottling!

Alcohol is well integrated. Not the most complex Savanna rum, but still a nice bottling. Fruity, spices, a little wood. Alcohol is well integrated. Reminds me a little of Isautier

I like it very much! Although I usually tend to avoid finishes, the cognac and Armagnac finish somehow fits very well here! Grapes join forces with red fruits and green apple, while herbs, eucalyptus and mint form a solid fubdqment. Powerful and intense, perhaps a touch too alcoholic, but I like it better than the Unshared Cask for Germany!

A superb representative of Savanna's skills. This rum is beautifully complex. Wood, fruit, spice, you name it. The cask brings a nice roundness and grape notes. This impression is confirmed on the palate. Round, warm and enveloping. A surprisingly fresh, minty note. Nice length. Superb rum.

Really great savanna )

A pleasant surprise. I like it much better than the moray eel. A really nice fruitiness of grape and apple meets intense woody notes. Anyone who likes Armagnac will have fun with this rum.

Excellent with armagnac, an original and interesting profile!

A wonderful sipper for the evening, just right for today. A fine nose with lots of Armagnac and fresh planty notes. On the palate, the vegetal side predominates, paired with a little spice and wood. The alcohol is quite well integrated so that you can roll it on your tongue with pleasure. The finish is not quite as long, but full-bodied.
