Sipped neat is where this Enmore REV lives: prunes, burnt sugar, dark chocolate, leather and licorice, with roasted oak running through it. The 56.2% sits surprisingly well — several tasters call the alcohol beautifully integrated, even "gefährlich leicht" to drink. Not as refined as the 1994 REVs, a bit more angular and woody, but a warm, heavy winter pour.

Very nice bottling! 😍 Nose: Heavy Guyana notes Mouth: Complex structure, without being spicy or bitter/astringent! Amazing! The first few seconds in the mouth it tastes like "fruit schnapps" which I didn't like... Finish: Long with lovely Guyana notes! The alcohol is integrated perfectly!

Tasting in parallel with the Nobilis RX12424. The nose brings typical Guyana REV notes. First and foremost, dried dark fruits, oak, toasted aromas, burnt sugar and malt. The Nobilis seems a tad more intense. On the palate, the roasted notes increase again and dominated the first impression. Gradually, the other components shine through and create a balanced picture. The finish is the most interesting for me because wonderfully spiced plum jam and raisins appear here. Bitterness is also there but within reason. This is the kind of rum I like to enjoy in winter in front of the fireplace. This rum is confusingly similar to the aforementioned Nobilis possibly the alcohol is better integrated in the Rum Club Ed 39.

Strong, lively rum with recognizable DNA from the Revs range. Much edgier than the smoother 94s, it nevertheless brings together the familiar elements of dark sweetness, ripe fruit, spices and wood aromas. Despite its biting nature, the character remains coherent and is a pleasure to drink. A successful price-performance ratio.

Tasted in direct comparison with the RomDeluxe 2006 REV (53%). In the end, both are on a par for me. I like the SoR a little better on the palate and the RDL on the nose. Edit: I like it much better when I tasted it again. +0,3 Edit: After multiple tastings, this is one of the best 2006 REVs for me!

I was very excited about this release - as a big fan of the 1994 REVs I was so far disappointed by the 2006 vintage, because the difference to the twelve years earlier vintage is in my opinion sometimes quite striking. Admittedly: The bar is also damn high. The representatives of the 2006 vintage known to me have the basic DNA of the REV Marques, but in my eyes they usually come less refined and with a somewhat disturbing medicinal-alcoholic note. The same is also recognizable in the Rum Club, but the release still gives me real pleasure: prune, red fruits, leather, licorice, heavy chocolaty sweetness, spices, wood - aromatically there is a lot on offer here. Great release, ideal for entry into the world of high-quality Demeraras - and an absolute PLV highlight at that. Chapeau!

Taste older than it is ... Enmore - drive destilerka, nyni uz jen funkcni destilacni zarizeni. Patrne jedine drevene destilacni zarizeni na svete, ktere se tesi velke oblibe. Rumy Enmore totiz maji prichut popelu, kuze, tezkeho dreva, coz nadchne zejmena milovniky nakourenych whisky. A pokud tradicnim Guyanskym zpusobem prida vyrobce do rumu trochu melasy, mate v lahvi unikatni velmi vyrazny a tezky rum. Jeden z mych oblibenych.

Blindverkostung, daher sinnvollerweise ohne das übliche Foto. Nase: eindeutig Guyana, Farbe deutet auch darauf hin; aber welcher Stil, welches Marque? Gaumen: Leder, Tabak, nicht sehr fruchtig; vielleicht ein SWR von Nobilis? Länderzuordnung gelingt mir zwar, präzisere Zuordnung aber nicht. Hausaufgabe: Üben! 😊 Auflösung: RX16863 (Ein feiner Rum, der in keiner Sammlung fehlen, aber auch getrunken werden sollte. Diskrepanz zu vorangegangener Direktverkostung: blind 4 Punkte weniger, na gut; es könnte wirklich sein, dass man bei Blindverkostungen vorsichtiger bewertet. Muss ich beobachten.)

Got this sample from Rum Depot with an order and it's a really good rum. The price tag is also pretty good. Wow, this is a really nice rum. Very good and well balanced. Intense in a good way with strong wood and roasted notes. There is a natural sweetness to it and the fruit is a bit in the back. The palate is warm and lightly dry. The finish is long, dry and warm. There is a light medicinal note in the profile. Draws really nice slow moving curtains in the glass. The empty glass has light varnish and faint leather notes hidden in the heavy wood.

This is also a very good representative of the 2006 vintage. Upon opening, immediately exudes the scent of sour cherry, paired with malt and dark chocolate. On the palate, it comes across as intense with an amazing amount of wood,licorice and espresso. In the background I perceive some violets. The finish is heavy and long with tannin, wood and burnt caramel. With a little more complexity it could well have landed in the 90 point range .

RumX Advent 7.12.23 Restrained nose after 1h of breathing, biting, woody, spicy, smoky, herbal, a little McDonald sauce for a moment (meant positively), plum, roasted, Apricot kernels, goji berries, quite woody, slight acidity and tingling in the mouth. Dry on the finish, yet fruity, wood present but not disturbing, apricot, whipped cream, sugar. Overall fine and tasty. Stronger than the older vintages but unfortunately not quite as elegant and also less complex. Alcohol also less gentle. A good rum at a good price.

Spirit of Rum scores big with this REV rum from 2006. The nose is ultra-concentrated. The dark notes of dark Demerara come through, with burnt sugar, roasted notes, dark chocolate, coffee, leather, spices (licorice, anise, chili) and a very pronounced burnt woodiness. Dried fruit (prunes, grapes) and herbaceous notes (tobacco, black tea) are heavy and weighty in the nostrils. A most demonstrative profile among young REVs. On the palate, the aromatic concentration intensifies with roasted wood, leather, (dark) chocolate, spices (licorice, vanilla, pepper, anise), molasses and burnt sugar. Dried fruits are always present, round and dark, accompanying black tea and tobacco. The profile is at once rich, gourmand and slightly bitter, offering several very pleasant facets. The alcohol is very well integrated. The finish is long, very dry, bitter and tannic. Woody, dark notes bordering on burnt, sugar (also burnt), molasses, spices (licorice and pepper in tent), leather, chocolate, coffee and dried fruit give a lot of opulence, before a little freshness comes with tobacco and herbaceous notes. A warm, concentrated, almost malty rum. A superb modern-day Guyana rum, especially considering the mark and the vintage.

8,9:On the nose, the first impression we get is fruity, grassy and roasted. There are dried fruits like raisins, blackcurrant, sour cherry, tropical like banana. We might think of a sherry. The wood is charred, roasted, as there is some burnt sugar. The molasses is vegetal with tobacco and mint notes. When aired a bit, more bourbon yellow fruits come out, there is very tempting peach, orange or orange peel. The molasses becomes darker with licorice, umami. Very balanced and round. 9,2:On the palate, the attack is spicy, roasted and fruity, as our tasting buds are occupied with a lot of different, but nicely pairing notes as dried fruits from sherry, bourbon yellow fruits, charred wood notes as caramel, maple, nuts and dark molasses with licorice and herbal touch, a bit bitter. The rum becomes dry and malty. After nice rest, there are tropical fruits like mango, mandarine, banana, cherry, a whiff of some grass. 8,9:The finish is long, everything from the palate melts into delicious marmelade with mocha touch. Damn' I like this one..Top.😋

For the price (129 in Germany, 149 in France) this is probably one of the best currently store available REVs on the market in September 2023. Nice Versailles taste (assuming you like the profile), excellent price-to-quality. Very good bounce and vivacity to the flavor. Second tasting: the alcohol could be a bit better integrated. Knocking off three points.

Spontaneously, I would say this is the best 2006 Enmore REV I've had in the glass, ahead of the Nobilis and the SBS. On the nose dried fruit, esp. dried fig, caramel, cola, slightly menthol. On the palate spicy, allspice, mocha, barrel. This is how Enmore REV must be!

Tasting at J. B. Labat. A beautiful nose with dark, woody bitterness. The fruit is perceptible, pineapple and banana. The palate is sweet at first, then overwhelmed by bitterness. The finish is short, on bitter wood. Tasted in direct comparison with Guildive's new Guyana (RX18238).

Has a little too much wood for me personally and the alcohol could be a little better integrated. I miss a few fruit notes here, but overall a good Diamond at a fair price. Certainly makes some tasty drinks

You don't necessarily want to sit on a saddle in chocolate, but the smell it leaves behind is awesome. This young REV definitely has notes of the old one that are even more fruity. The raisin-laced forest honey on the tongue paired with honey makes the bees buzz in the forest. At the latest in the finish, the rum is completely convincing and, as the little brother of the 94 REV, has nothing to hide.

Not quite fair, tasted together with a 1994 REV (Rum Cask). As expected, less woody and fruitier than the RC, but also less sweet and with less complexity overall. Still a very good bottling and one of the best 2006 REVs I've tasted so far. Re-tasting together with Franconian Tasting Gang: Freshly opened bottle, also takes longer in the glass for the nose to catch up to the Nobilis 2006 REV. The RC seems less fruity on the nose at the moment, more on the spicy, roasted side. I like the Nobilis better today.

Exciting rum in terms of the framework data. Typical aromas for a REV Enmore are present, but it doesn't knock my socks off after the first tasting. Very dark and roasty, strong molasses and brown caramel. Delicate dark red berries. Ergo, nose is very good and to fall in love with. Strongly bitter and full-bodied in the mouth, but not balanced and complex enough, which is a shame.

This is a value-for-money bomb with an extremely fruity and intense nose. Prunes, dark berries, caramel and light roasted aromas set the tone. This is followed by leather, tobacco, dark chocolate and liquorice. It is just as intense and complex on the palate. The warming, deep aromatic splendor is inspired by beautiful wood and liquorice notes, which come together very well with prunes, leather, caramel and dates. As expected, the medium to long finish has a pleasant fruitiness and a great spiciness, which is almost herbal due to the tannins. The tropical maturation has left a really remarkable coloration. A clear recommendation, especially for Guyana fans.

The color in the glass alone whets the appetite for this rum. The smell is intensely light fruit and a full can of wood and dark spice. With a little distance then also dark chocolate and leather. In the mouth it starts mild and becomes more and more intense. Wood, roasted aromas, caramel, dark chocolate that makes it to the finish. The alcohol is very well integrated, I really like it.

Really dangerous the stuff. The first bottle was empty before I even came to evaluate... I have long thought about whether I can give him 9.0 points - but had never so quickly a bottle of rum empty and although he is quite a bit younger, I find him more exciting than the 94 REV of FRC . Compared to the 94Revs, which I have tasted so far, he has of course not yet their complexity, but it is still a real powerhouse with excellent integrated alcohol. In the nose first plum and molasses / licorice - on the palate are then added herbs and a mild, pleasant bitter note. The finish is relatively restrained but still persistent on the palate and goes at some point einfasch tastes in cane sugar, although the rum remains long on the tongue and you can taste the molasses / licorice notes there even longer. Also in cocktails, unfortunately, he does much better than he should, because he is just damn round, but still brings a lot of flavor with him

Dark chocolate, coffee, liquorice, malt, toasty-spicy oak... everything that I appreciate about this type of rum is present, but in addition to the typical dried fruit combination of prunes, raisins and dates, there is also a good load of berries to discover, which I find particularly successful. A great REV that not only has its dark side, but also a very nice fruity side.

This REV is very powerful, intense and above all very complex on the nose and palate. Wood, leather, prunes and licorice. To describe just a few aromas. The finish is pleasantly warm and very long. After a few weeks of abstinence from rum, this is a great way to get back into it.

Day 7 in the RumX calendar and somehow I came across 2006 REV. Once again a great representative of this vintage. I'm particularly impressed by the great licorice note and the fantastic alcohol integration that makes this rum dangerously easy to drink.

REV power at the start, then... wood? Good and exciting Demerara. As you would expect from this marque, I find a lot of dark fruit here and, fortunately for me personally, rather few herbs, even if they are present. However, despite its young age compared to its 94 brothers, the rum is already too woody and rusty for me. After a short, powerful attack, the remaining aromas on the palate quickly lose their dominance and I am left with a tart, woody overall impression. For me, not the best bottling from this vintage and clearly behind most '94 REVs!

Oh, what a pleasant nose. The provenance is not in doubt: this woodiness, this prune, this leather. Those chocolate notes. Tempting. The palate is very surprising. Immediately, the high acidity disappears in favor of wood, before fading to licorice. All this in just a few seconds. Lively and spicy. Then woody and mellow. A little bitterness on the finish. Nice length. Very, very nice!

Guyana evening with the Bonn/Cologne guys: one of the better and heavier bottlings of the evening. Lots of wood, chocolate, and roasted aromas, alongside a pleasant sweetness and dried fruits (especially plum) from nose to finish.

Very round and harmonious rum. For me, a tad too bitter for a top rating. Also in direct comparison to the RC 22 it lacks some complexity. Nevertheless, the price-performance ratio is really okay.

Very dark profile, lots of chocolate ,tobacco, dried fruit, banana, coffee, wood, licorice, spices and leather. This is kinda going into the direction of an older sherry barrel whiskey or and older Armagnac. It’s lovely very sophisticated and also pretty good value. My first Guyana definitely looking forward to try more .

Klasse Release mit schönen Anleihen bei den 94er REVs. Dunkle Nase mit Lakritz, Röstnoten und verbrannten Zucker. Leichtes Holz. Geht am Gaumen so weiter, die 56% tragen die Aromen kräftig nach vorne, ohne alkoholisch zu sein. Top integriert! Mittellanges Finish, leicht bitter wie verbranntes Karamel. Super!
