Cadenhead‘s Clarendon Clarendon Distillery 2010
Here's the twist: the nose is the best part, and the palate can't keep up. Members find it fruity, floral and sweet up front — peach, violets, molasses-vanilla — then the mouth turns herbal, bitter and medicinal, with pepper from the 55% alcohol that isn't always tucked in. Give it half an hour in the glass and it opens up noticeably. A herb-and-iodine Clarendon Jamaican.

How does Cadenhead‘s Clarendon Clarendon Distillery 2010 taste?
Aggregated from 26 community reviews.
Great nose, herbal-bitter palate, needs air Most agree the nose is lovely — fruity, floral, sweet — but the palate disappoints: bitter, herbal, medicinal, with alcohol that isn't fully integrated. A decent Clarendon that promises more than it gives.

Weinbergpfirsich an der Nase und blumige Noten.
Review by Lot-NAS
Initially I found it kind of flat but leaving it there for a half hour opened it up really nice, adding flowery notes, some menthol and violets to the molasses-vanilla base. For half the price I would take a bottle.

#4758 22.06.2024 Nice tasting afternoon and evening with Hannes at the shop in Odense. Nose Light wood, faint smoke, fruity, spices, floral, light vegetal, faint citrus.. Palate Warm, medium spicy, light wood, faint roasted, fruity, pineapple, light floral, faint caramel, light vegetal. Finish Medium to long, light wood, fruits, spice, faint chocolate, faint floral.

I like the nose very much. Fruity, medicinal and very herbal. Then powerful, furry in the mouth. That's where he swings the club. 3 bags of Earl Gray brewed for 20 minutes.🇯🇲 Warm finish, beautiful caramel notes remain. Very good monymusk. Thanks to Bonn!

As expected, it cannot keep up with the HV EMB 2010 (RX227) tasted at the same time and certainly not with the Clarendons of 1995 and 1997, which won awards almost across the board; nevertheless, it is a solid rum, which is pleasing not least because of its light peach notes.

With enough time in the glass, the nose becomes less „bitey“ and the bottling develops the common continental fruit basket alongside Clarendon herbs and medicinal notes. Despite the reduction in this bottling, a harshness remains even after quite some time in the glas. The reduction works pretty good on the palate making this one easy drinkable. Fruits, spices and herbal bonbons. Not bad.

Kdyby byla chuť ještě výraznější, byla by to pecka

A pronounced astringent bitterness on the finish. Alcohol could also be a little better integrated.
Review by Thunderbird

Compared with RX16283 2010 Clarendon. Well, what is this one. A little sweet, a little bitter. Alcohol not optimally integrated. No fish, no meat. I can't imagine being able to remember this rum again. Plus the current price situation. For 60€ I would have seen an entry-level single cask here. As it is, this is a failure without any notable flaws.
