Sip this neat and the ester hits first — pure Jamaican glue and overripe fruit on the nose — then the Monastrell red-wine cask swings in with dark, sweetish dried apricot, dates and something that reads like port. Ein schönes Wechselspiel aus wildem Destillat und dem schwerem aber süßen Monastrell Finish, was (mich zumindest) in der Kombination eher an Portwein erinnert. Vielleicht ein Hampden? So oder so, sehr lecker. PLV auf jeden Fall 10/10.

Spahns Jamaica Rum. Wäre unser damaliger Gesundheitsministet nur annähernd so fähig gewesen wie dieser Rum, dann wäre uns viel erspart geblieben :-) In der Nase jedenfalls für mich nur Ester zu riechen. Am Gaumen kommen dann noch Früchte und Rotweon hinzu.

Preis Leistung richtig gut, viel Volumenprozent für 40€, ich habe mir den Rum gekauft mit dem Hintergedanken, damit einige Cocktails aufzupimpen die etwas Jamaica benötigen.

Von der Nase würde ich auf einen DOK tippen. Aber es kommt ein komischer Geruch noch hinzu, auf den ich gerade nicht komme. Denke er war zu lang im Fass. Anfangs hat er ein Funk, aber nur kurz, dann überwiegt das säuerliche. Ist nicht mein Fall. Für den Preis eigentlich super.
