Licorera Cihuatán Cihuatán Suerte Aged Rum
Here's the surprise: for a 15-17 year El Salvadoran rum at 44.2%, the nose is faint and the body reads light. Several tasters wished for more punch. What you do get is soft and fruity — vanilla, dried figs, sherry and young oak, with a light minerality some credit to the quartz filtering. Pleasant and gently sweet, just not a heavyweight.

How does Licorera Cihuatán Cihuatán Suerte Aged Rum taste?
Aggregated from 44 community reviews.
Soft, sweet, sherry-and-oak sipper, a touch thin Well-liked as an easy, sweetened sherry-and-oak sipper from Central America. The recurring gripe: thin body and a quiet nose that don't quite match the age statement.

Nice solid distillate. Something different and very exciting for Central America

#4246 09.09.2023 I got 6 secret samples from a friend as a blind tasting and that has been a lot of fun spread over two evenings. First off, the price to quality is pretty good. Once rested it's a fruity profile with nice spices and very light wood. The palate i light and I would have loved a higher ABV. The finish is medium long and also kind of light. The empty glass has some mineral and chocolate notes.

Intense notes of Madeira and virgin oak, sesame cookies, peppery and drier like the alux and nice notes of dried fig and slightly mineral due to the quartz filtering. I like the alux better overall!

Review by Schnapsschuesse
The usual pleasant sweetness, lots of young wood, unfortunately a little thin compared to the other special editions.
