A nice blend of Grande arome and Traditionelle. Roasted caraway seeds, honey and apricot jam meets esters, glue and subtle wood notes. The light menthol chewing gum/ice candy notes known from grand aromes are very intensely perceptible here together with various yellow tropical fruits and cinnamon chewing gum. Exciting experiment, only the alcohol could be better integrated, but this is probably due to the very short maturation time. There could be more potential here imho. In addition, this caraway note disturbs me massively sorry 😃

Great Savanna Blend. HERR is not to be dismissed out of hand. Seems young and fruity. Strawberries, honey burnt sugar and a tiny bit of wood. Nose really outstanding. On the palate it unfortunately falls off a bit .... same game as in the nose just a bit unbalanced ... A little more time in the tropics would have helped to play further up there possibly. Nevertheless, a great bottling .

Savanna Masterclass for RumX 2024. The nose presents flavors of lychee, red fruit, but also vegetal and even floral and bubble gum-like. The palate is soft on entry, then the aromas take over: esters, fruit, wood and spice. The finish is long, with citrus fruits, red berries and a pleasant floral/herbaceous note.

Intense and interesting blend of Traditional and HERR. While both characteristics add to the mix and create a enjoyable profile, personally, I tend to enjoy both profiles separatly more. Very nice bottling for Germany netherthrless.

Very pleasing, could have used some more time in the barrel. Retasting: Strawberry, orange, pineapple. Some varnish from the ester. I don't understand why it had to come out of the barrel so early. Could certainly have been really good. I find the PLV weak here, the bottle far too expensive.

Savanna Unshared Cask #3 für Deutschland. Erinnert mich vom Aromenprofil und der Fruchtigkeit sehr an unshared cask #4 für deutschland. dieser hat jedoch ordenrlich mehr power, die Früchte sind präsenter und die Adstringenz steht ihm gut. Zitrusfrüchte und Erdbeercreme am Gaumen und im Abgang. Eine gelungene Abfüllung.

Tasted against another 2006 Savanna, the relatively new Rum Nation with Sherry Finish (RX13525): The differences are striking. While the finish of the RN immediately comes to the fore in the nose and on the palate, the Unshared Germany has intrusive, artificial fruit gum notes. However, the alcohol is better integrated in the Unshared. Ultimately a neck-and-neck race, I find the Rum Nation more palatable, the Unshared Germany more balanced with a slightly higher recognition value.

I first tried it on the GRF 2023 before it was released and was somehow a little disappointed. Today, half a year later, I quite like it. Lots of esters that give it a bit of a HERR feeling, plus a nice rich honey note on the nose and then a lot of spice at the back, I would say cinnamon and cardamom. Unfortunately, it's quickly gone again, the young age probably comes through here. Young and intense, actually also good, but unfortunately priced too high! Update in the RumX-Masterclass: I still like it quite a lot, strong and spicy and the nice honey note. Still priced too high for me.

The nose immediately delivers: fruit jelly, citrus, honey and esters in good but not overwhelming intensity. The palate is very sharp at the beginning! Unfortunately, the metallic alcoholic taste remains. Otherwise nicely intense and very Savanna typical. The finish brings no surprise, medium to long and more in the direction of barrel. Good Savanna but I do not agree with the pricing and development. For rum of this quality I spent about 60 € 2 years ago. And there were no fish but information on the label!

The blend of Rhum Traditionell and HERR works very well and is well proportioned. On the nose, an intense Traditionell with lots of fruit and some ester. Only on the palate comes the HERR strawberry and the fruit gmi quietly in the background. However, the storage is m.E. Still not enough. The would have a few more years certainly stood well.

on the nose I have melon, pineapple, grape and young wood. On the palate just as neat young wood, plus green vegetables. From memory, I would say it is not quite on par with the RX 300 (the 14yr unshared for Germany), and compared to the CdI for Germany (RX 308) it falls off a bit more. Nevertheless a good Savanna

Savanna Masterclass for RumX July 2024: Braucht etwas Luft, um die alkoholische Präsenz eibzudämmen. Hinter diesem Schleier bahnen sich anschliessend aber herrliche Aromen von frischen und vergorenen Früchten den Weg, dazu Holz, florale Noten, etwas gebrannter Zucker, sehr dezente Würze…überraschend, wie sich der Rum im Glas wandelt.

#4185 This is an easy drinkable release, but at the same time also a well balanced one. Nice and fruity with a floral touch and the wood is more in the back. Draws really nice curtains in the glass. The empty glass has some chocolate and coffee to it.

Nez plutôt délicat. Boisé, fruité. Puis quelques effluves plus lourdes : esters, solvants. Des fruits jaunes également. En bouche, je m'attendais à quelque chose de beaucoup plus fort. L'alcool est parfaitement intégré. Une première bouche boisée et fruitée. Du piment. Puis un profil plus sombre, rôti. Sensation qui s'accentue encore ensuite. Très bon ! Edit : c'est vraiment très bon. Une touche d'esters et de fruits exubérants balancée par l'omniprésence du piment. Belle réussite. Comme d'habitude, j'aurais aimé quelques degrés de moins pour qu'il soit un peu plus accessible.

I had brought a small sample with me from the 12th GRF in Berlin, but I'm only now getting around to it... Nose: beautifully spicy-fruity and very intense. A whole lot of great aromas hit the nose right away. Ginger, cardamom and clove alongside sweet lemon, green apple and ripe apricot. Honey or syrupy sweetness envelops the whole. A certain medicinal note and a strong floral note - geranium - make it delicately edgy. At the end I can still detect a slight hint of liquorice. Top nose. 8.8 Palate: fruity, medicinal and spicy. Exciting mixture. Bitter-sweet lime and tart-sweet fruit, such as guava and fresh fig with apricot (but less than on the nose). The medicinal note is omnipresent, but anything but unpleasant. And as in the nose, there is an almost artificial syrupy sweetness. The spiciness is somehow reminiscent of caraway liquorice (is there even such a thing 😬?). I also really like it. 8.6 Definitely savanna. I like that. I guess the 6 years in the cognac barrel bring in those apricot flavors.

RumX Savanna Masterclass 12.7. Nach dem German Rumfest 2023 Mal wieder im Glas war bei mir dieser unshared for Germany mit einem Mix aus traditionell und Herr. Damals wie heute guter Eindruck. Zu Beginn in der Nase auch durchaus blumig wird das Profil am Gaumen dominiert durch einiges an Kaugummi Aroma mit Erdbeergeschmack. Im Finish dann tendiert die Abfüllung leicht in die würzigere Richtung. Es wirkt mit etwas Zeit im Glas dann doch nicht mehr ganz so gut balanciert

Comparaison grâce à RumX, Unshared vs Absolu ! Que du très bon. Ici des fruits, un petit côté floral au nez, qui ne m’a pas impressionné. Par contre en bouche, des fruits, un fond d’esters, beaucoup de fraise et un boisé léger. Finale longue qui se calme progressivement sur les piments et la fraise. Très bon, même si j’avoue qu’à ce prix j’aurai sûrement attendu un petit +.

Nun bin ich auch endlich in den Genuss gekommen, den Rum zu probieren, der damals einen krassen Fomo bei manchen ausgelöst hat. Meines Erachtens ist dieser Rum schon nicht schlecht, aber haut mich aber jetzt nicht wirklich aus den Socken dass ich jetzt noch einer Flasche hinterher hetzten müsste. Finde Alkohol ist nicht ganz so gut eingebunden, was ihm eine bessere Bewertung verwehrt.

Extremely fruity nose, in which you can discover a lot and which is complemented by some beautiful notes. The palate is very mild, spicy, fruity and sour with a distinct sweetness that is super harmonious. From time to time you get the feeling of chewing gum in your mouth and nose.

Auf dem GRF zuerst verkostet und total begeistert gewesen. Da hätte ich noch um 88 Punkte vergeben. Jetzt in Ruhe nochmals probiert und weniger enthusiastisch, obwohl es immer noch ein sehr guter Savanna ist. Im direkten Vergleich schmeckt mir aber der „alte“ Unshared Cask for Germany vielleicht doch einen Tick besser, komplexer und „erwachsener“. Immerhin sind es 6 gegen 14 Jahre Reifung. Nachtrag: Erneut verkostet während der RumX Masterclass und die Bewertung wieder nach oben korrigiert. Heute schmeckt er mir wieder sehr gut und der HERR-Anteil kommt gut zu Geltung.

Ich bin einfach ein High Ester Fan. Superspannender Savanna, an der Nase rote Beeren und gelbe Früchte, hauptsächlich Erdbeere. Auch am Gaumen sehr fruchtig, auch hier überwiegen für mich die Beerenaromen. Alkohol super integriert.

Nase: Politur, Traubenzucker, fruchtig mit Säure, ganz leicht Babykotze, Holz und erdige Noten. Im Mund eher typisch Savanna. Schmeckt mir gut. Abgang relativ dünn. Holz dezemt aber sehr präsent eingebunden.

Zatím jedna z nejlepších savan z této série, co jsem pil. Silně ovocné ve vůni, místy až esterové. Chuť podobného profilu, jahody a liči. Alkohol je integrován, vytknul bych snad jen kratší závěr, kterému opět dominují jahody.

👃 la combinaison d'esters du Herr et de boisé du Traditionnel booste de jolies odeurs de fraises fermentées et de citron vert confit. Beaucoup de fleurs blanches séchées d'arbres fruitiers et de pot-pourri. Douceur de bonbons au miel de montagne, vanille fraîche. Couloirs d'hôpital, mercurochrome et solvants. À aucun moment je ne ressens les presque 60°. Très beau nez net, clair, précis. - 87/100 😋 Alcool intense et vif, bien que cela manque de concentration olfactive par rapport au nez. On retrouve les mêmes marqueurs, esters, fraises, citron vert, des fruits tropicaux aussi (ananas mûrs, mangue), caramel de fruits compotés, des épices vives, médicaments contre le mal de gorge. - 83/100 ⛳ Chaude, épicée (pimentée, vanille et cannelle en poudre), méli-mélo de citron vert, d'orange, d'abricots, de fraises en salade de fruits, miel doux en accompagnement. - 85/100 🏅 Très beau mélange TH1 de rhum traditionnel et de HERR. Esters doux, fraises fermentées, sucre d'orge vanillé, boisé épicé. Une bouche en retrait par rapport à l'équilibre du nez. Jolie finale sucrée, estérisée et épicée qui dure longtemps. 85+/100

Bisher einer der besten Savans aus dieser Serie, die ich hatte. Stark fruchtig im Aroma, stellenweise fast esterartig. Das Geschmacksprofil ist ähnlich, Erdbeeren und Litschis. Der Alkohol ist integriert, mein einziger Kritikpunkt wäre der kurze Abgang. Zitrus und rote Früchte machen sich gut.

Savanna Masterclass 12. Juli 2024: Wundervoll intensive HERR Nase, die aber vom Holz eingefangen und dadurch zugänglicher wird. Schön intensiver Pfirsichgeruch. Nach der phänomenalen Nase fällt er Mund leicht ab. Dennoch toller Rum, holt mich ab!

Somehow a funky fish. Didn’t expected that much, but wac curious, as I made a few good experiences when it comes to cognac cask maturation. To make it short: The lack of age compared to other Savanna SC isn’t a problem here. Complex and round, alcohol well embaded. Good cask.

Das war einer der Top Rums vom GRF2023, Schöne Savanna Abfüllung die deutlich erkennbare Herr Aromen hat. Mir persönlich hat diese Honig-Frucht Note gefallen. Den Japan Tribute fand ich im direkten Vergleich etwas besser, wenn man sowas überhaupt vergleichen kann.

Trade fair evaluation. Another tasting approximately confirms the trade fair rating (+0.1). I like it, but it doesn't knock my socks off. My Savanna favorite remains by far the Savanna Unshared Cask for LMDW TH1 (RX10630), even after the small Savanna tasting.

Dieser Rum scheint mir sehr gut balanciert, wird auf der einen Seite frisch und fruchtig und auf der anderen Seite durch den HEER-Anteil wuchtig und komplex. Im Gaumen dominieren Pfirsich, florale und Holznoten. Schade war der nicht leicht zu bekommen.

Das erste Mal den Savanna Unshared Cask im Glas. Und er zeigt sofort Zähne. Der Geruch intensiv mit Klebstoff, reifer Frucht und einer Portion Würze, in der zweiten Reihe Litschi und Kiwi? Im Geschmack kraftvoll, sehr direkt, leicht dreckig und von Eiche getragen. Kein sanfter Schmeichler, eher ein Rum mit Biss, der lange nachhält und klar Kante zeigt.

Alkohol könnte etwas besser eingebunden sein. Trotzdem eine gefällige Abfüllung. Angenehme Honigsüße, viel Ananas und Erdbeere. Erinnert mich an die Juicy Fruit Kaugummis. Paar Jahre Reifung hätten ihm, denke ich, noch ganz gut getan.

Sehr Süße Nase. Eine Art von Aprikose. Wirklich schön. Starker Geschmack fruchtig und floral. Honig und überreife Früchte. Gut ester am Start. Wundervoller rum leicht zugängliche savanna version. Empfehlenswert. Machverkostung und damit das rating bestätigt.

Erstverkostung auf dem GRF 23 - da schon für gut befunden. Vieles was ich an Savanna mag - vor allem die Gewürze stechen hervor. Etwas fruchtiger würde mir allerdings noch besser gefallen. Und leider zu teuer.

Hier soir, j’ai eu l’occasion de goûter deux Savanna Unshared : l’édition Germany (Murène) et celle de la Réunion (Tortue). Deux profils très différents, logiquement avec deux rhums de composition differente La Murène ( Th1) se montre plus discrète que la Tortue au nez, mais aussi plus complexe, plus harmonieuse. Elle penche clairement du côté des arômes floraux et fruités. Peut-être lui manque-t-il un peu de peps au nez pour intégrer mon top chez Savanna, mais en bouche, c’est une vraie réussite : agréable, équilibrée, avec un boisé bien présent (alors qu’il ne transparaît pas vraiment au nez), et toujours ces belles notes fruitées qui tiennent tout au long de la dégustation.

On the nose: Estery and fruity. Strawberry. Honey. Little bit of floral notes. Taste: Esters with fruity notes like strawberries. Little bit of alcoholic Then you get l woody, spices and roasted notes. Honey and vanilla notes come in. Finish: Woody, spices like cinnamon and vanilla.Little bit of yellow fruits. Maybe i would have prefered more clearer, stronger notes and more depth maybe, anyway while this rum worth tasting, this blend didnt really work me.

Sehr spannendes Profil. In der Nase Vanille und viel Florale Noten mit Zitrusgras, Limette und Parfüm. Am Gaumen viel Holz. Der Abgang mit vielen Bitterstoffen. Dabei sehr komplex und der Rum entwickelt sich. Sehr hochwertiger Rum. Als Aperitif geeignet.
