Delicious rum, Jamaican funk, completely different from classic sweet rums, exotic fruits, bananas, cocoa, pleasant tannins, spices. Pleasant, lasting, fresh, dry and slightly salty finish. For me, as a whisky lover, this rum is what I'm looking for. Great balance of aromas, taste and strength.

It’s a really great rum and excellent introduction to Jamaican rum with a blend aged 6-10 years that’s flavourful, smooth and complex with a rather long finish. Bought some bottles of it together with some others from Worthy Park during the last Rum Cruise with Birka Cruises in the Baltic Sea after tasting it at Ian Burrell’s blind taste. I really like that they now are on their own because I’m more interested in having bottles from the actually distillery than from independent bottlers. On the added photo is the bottles included at Ian Burrell’s Blindtest.

Interesting rum mainly because I found it an unusual Jamaican because of some of the fruity notes. As the mere novice that I am, at a blind tasting, I would have mistaken it for an agricultural. Very light toastiness. Medium-long finish with a prevalence of lychee.

Really good starter rum, especially to enter in the wonderfull world of jamaican rums. Very pleasant to drink. Nose is fruity with some esters and a light floral, marzipan, woody notes. The various notes of trop. fruits, esters and wood contiues in mouth. The finish is medium long with various notes. Perfect in combination with a mild cigar👌🏻👌🏻

After a long time, I have once again torn open a rum that accompanied me in my early days. For the price, this is a real underdog for me. With a little more ABV, it would be an absolute cracker. As a mixer, it's excellent and all for under €40 at the time

8:The nose is instantly recognizable. Banana, a brioche, more or less resin and stone with funkiness. At first, it's the dried banana that takes the cake, a banana is very ripe, there are herbal notes/annis, mint, also a hint of vanilla tobacco and yeast, with a pinch of tonka bean.With aeration, a pine is mingled with our dried banana with some peppery notes. The balance between medicinal and pastry is admirably delicious. The rum becomes grassy and green apple arises. The woodiness is chocolatey, caramelized, toasted and ripe exotic fruits, like stewed peaches mingle with cereals.Perfect pie or tarte. 8:The palate is quite dry, unlike the nose, sweetness is natural and tasty.After this rather spicy- peppery with very mild cinnamon, woody attack, the banana is tastier than ever. It's surrounded by spices and brioche yeast, which adds some bitterness with caramel, all becomes very thick but buttery.There are nice floral(perfum) notes also 7,8:On the finish, a bit metallic, pine resin, yeasty pastry linger, with mild bitterness, raisins and raspberries. Edit:6.4.25, still tasty, 29.4.26

N: nice mix of glue, varnish, nailpolish remover, ripe papaya and pineapple. Also green olive in brine, tea. Some wood influences with vanilla. Gets fruitier by the minute, on banana and peach. T: Funky and weighty, rather rounded. A tropical fruit mix meets glue, olives, sea spray and tea. Just a bit of spice. Quite complex with the right alcoholic strength. F: Juicy, a tad funky, with solid wood influence of vanilla, slice and cigar box. Solid rum!

Super pleasant and soft estery notes on the nose. Rather dry, tropical fruits, some banana in the mouth. A wonderful Jamaican rum from WP if it does not have to be an ester bomb from Hampden. Good for beginners.

Update after 9-12 month open bottle: So much red apple in this one, didn’t notice first time around. This is a great 100% pot still Jamaican sipping rum at a great price. It's so gentle yet so full-flavored with that signature Jamaican funk. Perhaps one of the very best introductions to a friend who wants to try a Jamaican for the first time. Even though it's not very expensive it's clearly not meant to be a cocktail rum, where a lot of its gentlemanly subtlety gets lost. Great provenance, great flavor, a pleasure.

A good rum for a successful introduction to the world of Jamaica, which is very intense despite being 45%. Balanced, complex and round with beautiful aromas and all at a very fair price. Very fruity with lots of apple, citrus fruit and banana, complemented by wood, caramel, chocolate and floral notes.

In the nose especially after a few minutes in the glass mainly citrus, I would not have assigned directly Jamaica.In the taste very spicy with wood and a few earthy notes. In the finish comes a nice mix of banana, lemon and tobacco.Will not my favorite Jamaican, but is definitely tasty.

Nice entry to Jamaican rums, you find all the typical fruity notes with a slight funkiness but toned down based on lower abv. All in all good drinker and gateway to higher abv & ester rums. Surprisingly long finish and oilyness, really not a bad dram.

For the umpteenth time, I'm going back to Select. My least favourite rum from my favourite distillery. The aroma probably reminds me more of Guyana than Worthy Park. I finally figured it out. It tastes like young Guyana, too. I don't think it fits WP's production, but it's not bad.

This was one of my first rums and also a blind purchase, I was really disappointed at the time because I was still used to the sweet Plörre. Meanwhile, I have the bottle brought forward again and find it is a solid Jamaican and he is definitely much better than the sweet rums I drank at the beginning. :-) Based on this bottle I personally see how my taste has changed over the relatively short time.Nachtrag: FotoNachtrag: still a wonderful Jamaicaner.

A basic Worthy Park that's sweet, gourmand and voluptuous. The nose has a funky, rounded profile of exotic fruits, citrus and notes of esters and solvents. Vanilla woodiness adds creaminess, while the scent of flowers adds freshness and diversity to this very typical profile. The attack on the palate is calm and very rounded. The texture is creamy and mellow, adding fat to the rum's body. Tropical fruit, citrus, phenolic notes and lightly spiced vanilla wood all play off each other, oscillating between sweetness and sweetness once again. The finish is of decent length. A hint of roasted notes, tobacco and caramel shake up the fruity-spicy duel we've been witnessing all along. An easily accessible rum that offers a gentle introduction to Jamaica.

Fein fein denkt man sich bei diesem erschwinglichen Kumpanen. Nettes Zusammenspiel von Gewürz, Holz und tropischen Früchten mit schönem Ester im Tor. Geht immer und auch immer lecker. Wird bei jedem Schlückchen sogsr ein bisdchen Besser.

Nase: Banane, Früchte, bißchen Funk, mild und zurückhaltend. Gaumen: vielschichtig, Terpentin, ansonsten jedoch keine klare Richtung, die 45% Alkohol sind sehr prägnant, was sich auch im Abgang bemerkbar macht. Ich mag sonst Jamaikaner, insbesondere Worthy Park (hab die Destille im Februar 2024 besucht und ein paar Fanboy-Artikel erworben – siehe Foto) hier finde ich das Preis-Genuss-Verhältnis zum pur Sippen allerdings unausgewogen. Gut als Mixer, dafür ist er mir aber zu hochpreisig. Dann lieber gleich auf den 12 Jahre alten großen Bruder umsteigen.

This is my second Worthy Park tasting, I found 12y little more matured and smoother, but this one is still very tasty. It’s typical Jamaica, I liked esters in this one and also alcohol (45%) is really well integrated and its quite smooth and pleasant finish. Definitely worth the tasting. I can recommend.

Bottle just opened and the rum has spent little time in the glass, so it needs to be tested again. First impression matches what I know from Worthy Park: subtle esters, banana, discreet wood, a bit of glue, and tropical fruits. It's quite pleasant and easy to share at this alcohol level. Very cool.

Exciting thing. At first glance, it's quite a tiring rum, very spicy and significantly less Jamaica fruit than Hampden, for example. But on the finish it becomes much more relaxed and banana dominates.

Rated this one with a 5 since my first taste not all that pleasant. Having revisited this bottle more often, the appreciation certainly increased. I would not drink a whole bottle of this one during an evening but rather a single glass to differe tiate a bit with different rums.

I want to like it, I like everything it stands for, but I do not like this rum. The nose is first tempting, Jamaican, then a little banana, some vanilla, overall very light. then it's already over.in the mouth continues unspectacular, some fruit, some wood and for 45% amazingly sharp. in the finish then even sharper. This is just not my rum. Too bad.

Lovely easygoing Jamaican rum. It has tonnes of banana, fruit, vanilla, wood and caramel sweetness. It’s very approachable at 45% and still full of flavour. Slightly funky and creamy on the palate. Very well priced. I really rate Worthy Park, and appreciate that they use molasses from the cane grown on the Worthy park estate.

Intense flavors, nice mouthfeel. Slightly alcoholic taste but balanced with the rest. I feel like this would be a good rum for bourbon lovers. Quite woody on the finish.
