Nobilis Diamond No. 34 (TAST'TOE) REV 2006

Give this one time in the glass and it opens right up — that's the recurring note from tasters. It's a dark, thick Guyanese REV: wood, burnt sugar, cocoa, coffee and licorice, with plum and raisin underneath and a faint glue edge. A few catch some bitterness and tannin late. Winter-evening rum, more spicy and roasted than fruity, and the 57.4% mostly sits well.

Dark, woody Demerara for cold nights Most tasters land in the high 8s: a dark, roasted, woody Demerara with cocoa, licorice and dried fruit. It needs air, and a couple wish the alcohol were slightly better integrated.

Again a very good 2006 REV. It needs time in the glass and then develops its potential . He is more on the spicy and strong side . In the background are easily perceptible fruit and sweet notes. After the 1994 REV's my favorite vintage of this Marks.

Nicely balanced REV from 2006. The vintage has real potential, but could use a bit more aging time.

Very dark this one. Any e150..might be. Nose: pretty acidic. Sour cherries. Red wine. Red fruits. Oaky. Interesting. Taste: much thicker than expected. Sweeter too. Syrupy. Cherry. Raisins. Port. Peppery. Cloves. Chocolate. Glue. A pretty winterly rum. More layered than initially expected. Good stuff.

An excellent modern-day Demerara rum. The nose is full-bodied, intense and rich in dark aromas of all kinds: from smoky wood to roasted notes (mocha, dark chocolate), from warm spices (licorice, anise, cinnamon) to roasted and malty notes, as well as burnt sugar, molasses and cola. The fruitiness is heavy on prune, accompanied by floral notes on a very fragrant black tea. It's a class act that envies nothing of last century's Enmore. The attack on the palate is exquisite, sticking to the palate with its fruity and floral flavors (aromatic herbs, dried fruit). The aromas are highly concentrated. The sweet, caramelized notes soften the palate against Demerara's darker notes (mocha, dark chocolate, wood, roasted notes and warm spices). The alcohol is very well integrated. The finish is long and warm, round but rather heavy and slightly tannic. A profile reminiscent of caramel and cola candy emerges, in contrast to the coffee, leather, spices, wood and roasted notes. A superb bottling from Nobilis that allows you to enjoy a lovely nectar on a rough winter's evening while staying warm.

06-11-2025 - Rate 8.5 25-09-2025 - Rate 8.5 31-07-2025 - Rate 8.7 Another great Diamond from Nobilis. REV mark equals dark, thick rum with lots of flavors. And this one does not disappoint. In the nose I have wood, spices and brown sugar. Plate says wood, roast, spice and a hint of licorice. Aftertaste wood and slight hint of glue. My first time tasting this one. Have samples and can’t wait to try it again. 06-02-2026 - Rate 8.5

The bottle has been open for quite a while and I like it a lot. Herbaceous roasted wood, spices with anise and licorice, a sweet side with some chocolate notes and a woody semi-dry finish. Only downside and the reason that it can’t make the jump to the 9+ level, is that the alcohol could be integrated better. Looking forward to some future 2006 REV releases.
