#5472 12.07.2025 Late tasting with a set of friends and I'm always happy when we meet up. Nose Light wood, faint smoke, light coconut, light coffee, dried fruit, faint banana. Palate Oily, fresh, wood, light roasted, clove, light coffee, raisin, light coconut, light chocolate, faint tannins. Finish Long, wood, light tannins, light dry, dried fruit, light chocolate, light clove. Empty glass Vanilla, chocolate, raisin, spice, light citrus. Need to rest for a while to really open up properly.

Not bad, but too sweet for me. However, it is a drinkable rum
Review by Sebastian.W
The first thing I get on the nose is coconut, this evolves into dried fruit, orange peel, spices and burnt sugar. The taste is a different story. There are a lot of burnt notes accompanied by pepper, tobacco, leather and dark chocolate. The burnt notes stay for the finish. A very woody rum (which is to be expected), but still enjoyable.
Review by Rare Akuma
Thick and linear profile on the nose with a backbone of malt and cask spices. What else after this amount of time in virgin oak? Smells very sweet and wood driven. Rich and generous with blackened caramel, charred nuts, espresso and coconut husks. Very dense and unforgiving, stings the nose with alcohol, peppers and a musty sensation. In the mouth the virgin oak expresses even more influence. Too much for me. Woody. Very woody. Then a parade of caramel, vanilla and malt. It tastes like the liquid version of a very dark ganache. At the back of the palate it does turn slightly complex with some bitters, salt and a tiny bit of coriander. Alcohol could be integrated a little better. The finish is cloyingly sweet and astringent, with dark chocolate, wood and lightly smoked notes that linger in the throat. Upon opening the bottle, I did not enjoy it at all, as there was nearly no complexity. However over time the liquid evolved frequently -more than I have ever experienced-, even going through a soapy, nearly undrinkable stage. But here we are. After 3 months of oxidation finally at an enjoyable stage in its evolution. You get what you expect here. If you’re a virgin oak sceptic, don’t even think about buying.
