#4907 Whisky Live in Paris 27.09.2024-30.09.2024. Another great event meeting a lot of RumX new and old friends. This year three weren't as many new releases as in 2023, but I still had a great time. Nose Round, smooth, sweet, light grass, sugarcane, light citrus, faint wood, light banana. Palate Smooth, sweet, balanced, faint wood, fruits, light citrus, light vegetal, minerals, sugarcane, faint earthy. Finish Medium long, fresh, smooth, round, sweet, light vegetal, light citrus, light peaches, sugarcane. I keep getting surprised at how smooth Neisson releases are and this one is no exception. This is a very nice rum that I think everyone can drink and enjoy.

Tasted this really great Agricole at the Rhum Fest Paris 2026. It’s aged for 5 years in Bourbon barrels. The nose is round, smooth, fruity, roasted, sweet, spicy and woody with scents of banana, sugarcane and vanilla. At the palate it’s round, balanced, smooth, vegetal, sweet, fruity, spicy and woody with flavors of honey, maple, raisin, citrus and cinnamon. The finish is long.

Père Labat hérite d’un label Tatanka, généralement lié à Neisson et gage de qualité même sur des profils jeunes comme ici. Le nez est très rond et onctueux avec des belles notes de vanille, de canne à sucre et de banane, le tout agrémenté par un bourbon gourmand et un boisé légèrement toasté. Le nez fait état d’un rhum jeune, qui a tous les attraits de la jeunesse mais avec l’expérience des vieux, c’est bien élaboré. La bouche insiste encore plus sur la douceur avec le sirop d’érable, le miel, la canne à sucre, les fruits secs et les agrumes. Si les épices et le bois sont plutôt légers, tout comme la verdure végétale, on perçoit immédiatement le côté onctueux, sirupeux et gouleyant du profil. Ce profil mi-jeune mi-vieux fait des merveilles ici, entre expression et finesse. L’alcool est très bien intégré. La finale est douce, pas d’une grande longueur mais se suffit à elle-même. Entre fraîcheur, douceur mielleuse, chaleur d’épices et générosité de fruits, cette finale tient toutes ses promesses sur les saveurs. Un rhum convaincant, rond et d’une grande onctuosité, Père Labat propose quelque chose d’intéressant qui mériterait de sortir en brut de fût.
