Rest & Be Thankful Clarendon AHJ 1998
Opinions land in the mid-to-high 7s, and the recurring theme is a gap between nose and glass. Members love the light, fresh nose — green apple, banana, vanilla, a little honey — but several feel the palate turns spicy and woody and the fruit fades. A low-ester Clarendon: creamy vanilla, young oak, pepper, dried fruit. The 56% is noticeable. A few called it an "easy sipper," others wanted more tropical depth.

RumX/Kirsch-Online-Tasting Rest&Be Thankful! 24 Jahre alter Low Ester AHJ (ein altes Mark, ist heute gleich einen MBK), sehr ähnlich dem anderen AHJ. Nase: cremig, mit Zitrusfrüchten, Banane, Stachelbeere und grünem Apfel. Leicht holzig und würzig. Zudem ist da eine feine Honig-Note. Mit der Zeit entfaltet er sich mehr und mehr. Sehr schön und fein. 8,4 Gaumen: deutlich intensiver als die Nase. Sehr süß zu Beginn, mit Honig und vor allem Süßholz. Hat eine sehr cremige, fast speckige Textur. Er ist aber auch leicht salzig-pfeffrig. Alles -auch der Alkohol- gut ausbalanciert. Da gibts noch einiges zu entdecken. Muss mich noch an die low-light Jamaikas heran arbeiten. 7,9

Ein eher trockener Rum, bei dem die mineralischen und etwas säuerlichen Noten im Vordergrund stehen, dahinter dann die Frucht (grüner saurer Apfel und unreife Bananen). Hat was, brauch ich aber keine ganze Pulle von. Alter Falter, der Preis. Dafür lieber ein schönes Wochenende im Spa einbuchen. Hat man mehr von. 84/100 oder 5/10

Überrachend schwach an der Nase! Gewürze, Karamell, Honig, Apfel, Himbeer. Im Mund etwas besser und intensiver, immer noch Apfel und Gewürze. Komplexer und langer Abgang, recht scharf, aber auch röstig/rauchig und pflanzlich, sowie süß. Schwer einzsutufen als Gesamtpaket. Wenn die Nase besser wäre, könnte ich mehr Punkte vorstellen.

Nach dem RumX R&BT Tasting am 7.2. den Rest nochmal mit mehr Ruhe verkostet: Als dritter Rum ein 24jähriger Monymusk mit dem alten Marque AHJ, was nun dem MBK Marque enrspricht. An der Nase ähnlich wie der vorherige MBK, vielleicht etwas weniger ‚zitronig‘ und mehr Richtung winterliche Gewürzmischung. Am Gaumen recht würzig.

Sehr leicht in der Nase, aber rund. Frisch mit grünem Apfel, etwas Banane und wieder viel hellem Holz. Vanille, etwas Torf/Rauch am Gaumen. Insgesamt sehr würzig, aber auch hier gerade so nicht alkoholisch scharf. Etwas mehr Süße. Funk und Frucht im Abgang.

#4599 07.02.2024 online tasting with Rest & Be Thankful. Nose Light, light roasted wood, fruits, light cinnamon, faint mint, floral, light ester, faint varnish Palate Light roasted wood, earthy, dried fruit, spicy, light ester, naturally sweet. Finish Medium long, light roasted wood, faint smoke, dried fruit, naturally sweet. Very thick slow moving curtains in the glass. The empty glass has some licorice and faint tobacco.

An der Nase leicht und fruchtig, überwiegend gelbe Früchte. Vanille, Röstnoten und Holz sind auch dabei. Am Gaumen geschmeidig, süß und wieder sehr fruchtig mit gut eingebundenem Alkohol. Der Nachklang hat eine leichte metallische Note. Sehr guter fruchtiger Clarendon, preislich leider nicht so attraktiv.

Da ich beim Tasting leider, dank der Deutschen Bahn nicht dabei sein konnte, hole ich das jetzt mal in Ruhe nach. Vom ersten Eindruck ist er meines Erachtens eher in die Kategorie Easy Sipper einzuordnen. Sehr kurzweilig. Aber für den Preis ist er für mich eher ein NoGo, sorry.

Sehr gefällige Nase: süße Banane, Vanille, etwas Holz und rote Früchte. Dazu eine pfefferige aber dennoch frische Schärfe. Im Mund schließt er sich nahtlos an den Geruch an, der Alkohol ist auch super eingebunden. Im Abgang dann noch leichte Anklänge von Kaffee. Gefällt mir sehr gut!

Wuchtige Würzaromatik, herbe Fassnoten, dazu die obligatorischen Fruchtaromen. Am Gaumen und im Abgang wird das frische Aromenspiel aus der Nase zunehmend durch präsente herb-bittere Aromen flankiert. Mir etwas zu intensiv, gerade im Vergleich zu den anderen R&BT-Monymusk-Releases aus dem gleichen Jahr.

Teil des Rest & Be Thankful tastings (danke an RumX und F.L.O. fürs Teilen). Schöne und interessante Veranstaltung. Alle Kanditaten hatten eine sehr schöne Nase. Am besten haben mir das LSO und MPG Profil zugesagt. Insgesamt fehlte mir aber oft die tropische Reifung.

Es waren Fünf verschiedene Clarendon monymusk abgefüllt von Rest&Be thankful im überwiegend Low Ester Bereich im Vergleich. Der Sieger bei mir RX18817-->Mark MMW und mit Estern von 224,2 gr/hlpa der höchste Wert liegt bei mir in Front dahinter wird es etwas dann relativ eng. Diese Abfüllung hier ist vom Profil etwas würziger, Alkohol ist spürbarer. Insgesamt wirkt das Profil im Vergleich zu RX17094 jedoch etwas leichter.

Tasted during the RumX masterclass. Huge thanks the guys from R&BT for presenting their range! Very nice exploration of some low(we) ester marks. While some of the noses were a little light, the long aged expressions are very interesting on the palate across the board. Very interesting! :)

Interessanter Jamaikaner, in der Nase direkt nach dem Einschränken und Riechen hatte ich das Gefühl in einem Schwimmbad zu sein. Etwas Chlorgeruch. Legte sich aber zügig und es kamen Nuten grüner Früchte durch. Am Gaumen Esther, Banane, Mango, Tabak und Ananas. Die 56% schmeckt man.

Master tasting from Rest & Be Thankful via RumX This MM is very fruity on the nose with a dominant apple note. Unfortunately, it loses this fruitiness on the palate. Spice, pepper and wood dominate and the alcohol is not so well integrated, which is a shame, The finish also remains in this direction. The whole thing seems somewhat unfinished

Nachverkostumg der drei Clarendon Low Ester Abfüllungen aus dem Rest & Be Thankful Tasting. Höheres Mark und Ester als der MBK und schöne Noten von Vanille, Tabak, Papaya, gelbe Früchte … gefällt mir aber insgesamt weniger gut als der MBK.

Very gentle, light nose. Vanilla & spices. Hardly any fruits. Same picture on the palate, heavy on spices and creamy vanilla. The spices stay on the tongue for some time. Unfortunately missing the fruits :(

Trotz des pfeffrig scharfen Antritts bleibt der weitere Verlauf im Mund dann doch eher dünn und geizt für meinen Geschmack zu sehr mit fruchtigen Nuancen, denn außer einer knackigen, grünen Apfelnote sowie unreifer Birne und Zitrone kommt da nicht viel. Das Gesamtpaket ist zwar nicht unangenehm, aber für das Alter und den aufgerufenen Preis etwas enttäuschend.
