A blend like Ricci knows how to make, with two origins that respond well to each other without one overshadowing the other. Here we have a rather young Hampden with lots of very ripe fruit, accompanied by a more earthy TDL that should bring woodiness and roundness. A pleasure.

The label promises Grand Arôme from Réunion. Neither nose nor palate have much to do with it, however, blind I would rather be with a high-proof, but little aromatic fruit brandy. Makes me little fun, I'm sorry.

Quite restrained on the nose with sweetish notes, light vanilla and some fruit, but without the typical intensity of a Grand Arôme. On the palate, it is a simple, alcoholic rum with a sweetish spiciness and a slightly woody note. The expected savanna DNA is almost completely absent, which means that the rum falls well short of expectations.

Strange. The label says Grand Arome from Reunion. But there is definitely no Grand Arome in the bottle. A fairly neutral column-style rum with light chocolaty barrel notes.

I didn't perceive much on the nose, mostly alcohol and little room for aromas. On the palate, the alcohol is very strong and masks a lot. I detect a little honey. Medium finish, as expected given the alcohol content, but still mostly alcohol for me. I tried to cut a little with water to lighten the alcohol, but to no avail; the glass became very flat. I'm very disappointed compared with my expectations of a "big aroma" and rather glad I only had a sample.

Weak robe. Lacks intensity. Nose with a lot of alcohol, lacking complexity. Strong attack but driven by the alcohol again, with hints of residual sugar. Some unpleasant bitterness. Long finale, not bad, but of honeyed pineapple. Overall not amazing and honestly, disappointing
