Finde dies ist ein toller Beenleigh. Er ist fruchtig und floral in der Nase, Holz ist auch erkennbar. Am Gaumen haben wir dann dunkle Schokolade. Außerdem sehr röstig dieser Rum, und im Abgang kann ich auch etwas Minze erkennen.

Der Quakka auf dem etikett ist ganz niedlich obwohl die flasche sehr schlicht daher kommt Geschmacklich finde ich diesen rum sehr weit weg von dem was hinten drauf steht werder PX noch oloroso Sherry hab ich wirklich in der Nase oder im mund Es ist ein mix ais gewürzkräutern und holz aber keine fruchtigen nussigen Noten wie man es eigentlich gewohnt ist bei Sherry Nicht wirklich meins .

Palate Light wood, faint smoke, sweet, light glue, herbs, mint, faint marzipan. Finish Medium long, wood, dried fruit, light mint, marzipan.

Australia Artur Advent Calendar 2025 (6.2) Anders, als der 6.1 aus dem Kalender belegt dieser hier den Gaumen mit dunklen Früchten und wunderbaren holzigen Aromen. Auch wesentlich mehr abv, wobei der Alkohol hier viel besser integriert ist, wenn auch nicht perfekt. 60% abv tipp: 12 Jahre

Guter Einsteigerrum! Für den niedrigen Alkoholgehalt bietet er eine gewisse Komplexität. Sherry ist vorhanden, aber nicht überbordend.

Hier gibt es viel Sherry auf die Geschmacksknospen gekleistert. Für mich nicht immer als Rum zu erkennen. Da gibt es exotische Whiskys aus z.B. Indien oder Skandinavien, die ähnliche Profile abliefern. Lässt sich wirklich gut trinken und hat keine Fehlnoten, ist aber mit einem knapp geschnittenen Abgang versehen und auf Dauer fast ein wenig zu klebrig-süß, was mit den Kräuternoten von Salbei, Spitzwegerich und Minze bisweilen an ein malziges Karamellkräuterbonbon erinnert.

I was actually really looking forward to this bottling as an easy sipping Australian.... But the sherry finish and the overall very short maturation time are unfortunately rather disappointing. Wood, incense, toasty wood and lots of dried fruit and pear/raisin from the clearly too dominant sherry finish. Could also be much rounder.... I had hoped for more.

Australia Advent Calendar 2025 (6.2). Un nez moins doux, plus végétal fermenté que le RX23458, j’y sens l’inflence des fûts de Sherry. Des fruits secs et des raisins secs et un léger acétone viennent compléter le profil. La bouche est douce, aromatique avec des raisins secs et des fruits jaunes, du végétal fermenté et du fût de Sherry. Les arômes sont un peu masqués par le léger acétone du nez qui se confirme ici. La finale est sur la même ligne, moyennement longue avec une douceur plus marquée.

Probiert auf der Hanse Spirit 2024 Ich glaube Beenleigh ist einfach nicht ganz mein Profil. Alleine wegen des Etiketts hätte ich gerne ne Flasche, würde aber wohl zu selten danach greifen. Mir ist er als Sipper vermutlich etwas zu röstig auf Dauer und der Nagellack Geruch hat hier auch etwas das mir etwas weniger zusagt als bei anderen Abfüllungen mit einer ähnlichen Note.

Je to velmi specifický rum. Nejsem zrovna velký zastánce austrálie, ale tady jsem objevil takovou porci bylinek, že si nepamatuju kde toho bylo tolik jinde. Už ve vůni cítím něco, co sem citíval u babičky na zahrádce. V chuti se bylinky rozvinou ještě víc. To mě baví. Bohužel tomu chybí vyzrálost a chtělo by to vyšší abv.

Die Lagerung in meinem Keller hat dem Rum gutgetan🙃 Weniger süß als erwartet, dabei aber dicker als gedacht. Während in der ersten Hälfte kurz röstige Ansätze, ein Hauch Schokolade und Holz hochschwappen wechselt das Ganze recht schnell zu breiter Fruchtigkeit, leichter Rosine und Feige und saftiger Frucht. Danach geht's in Richtung Birnenbrand, mehr Sherry und einem Hauch floraler Noten. Irgendwie mag ich den Rum, so ab und zu mal ein Glas ist voll ok.

Weniger süß, als ich aufgrund der anderen Bewertungen vermutet hatte. Zwar schmeckt man den Sherry ganz leicht heraus, allerdings überwiegt für mich die Würze mit etwas Banane und Schokolade. Ganz interessant, aber hätte vielleicht auch noch ein paar Jahre länger reifen können. Insgesamt ne ganz Runde Sache, aber nichts super Außergewöhnliches. Für den Preis allerdings gut.

Unscheinbar in der Nase, ein echtes Brett am Gaumen: die 6 jährlich frischen Fässer in seinen 7 Jahren schmeckt man schon, sind jedoch exzellent eingebunden.

Nach dem ersten probieren ohne Atmen relativ alkoholscharf. Nun nach fast 3 stündiger Atmung wird der Alkohol deutlich dezenter. Unterm Strich aber durchschnittlich.

Wow, this is new! Never had some rum with this kind of flavour and smell... Intriguing. Not sure I like it for daily sipping, but it is tasty nonetheless. Herbal, sweet, fruity... More complex than I first thought.

On the nose, you can still recognize a bit of the Beenleigh profile. On the palate then much overlaid by the Oloroso and PX Cask Finish. But then very fruity and sweet, although less sweet than feared. Who likes it. There are clearly worse in the price segment.

Sehr angenehmer Rum aus der Beenleigh-Distillery. In der Nase eine fruchtige Note, welche von Sherry abgelöst wird. Am Gaumen die typischen Australischen Noten welche zum Schluss vom Sherry abgelöst werden. Der Alkohol ist sehr schön eingebunden.

Rate 7.4 Tasted a while ago. Can’t remember when. 31-07-2025 - Rate 7.3 Have tasted a few different Beenleigh bottles these past few years. This one is nether between the best or the worst. Somewhere in the middle. Notes of glue, methanol, herbal and wood. Palate is wood/oak, hint of sherry, resin and glue. Finish is medium dominated by methanol and spices.

Admittedly: 50% of the purchase decision here was the label. I stand by it. Love it.The other 50% were curiosity. Australians are known to me so far as quite edgy - so I was interested in how the barrels affect here.In the nose comes from which also directly very much through. Raisins, fig, sherry and fruitiness full. Quite juicy fruit schnapps, glue.On the palate, a refreshingly different picture emerges. Less sweet than expected, but thicker than expected. While in the first half briefly toasty approaches, a touch of chocolate and wood sloshing up the whole changes quite quickly to broad fruitiness, light raisin and fig and juicy fruit. After that it moves towards pear brandy, more sherry and a hint of floral notes.Somewhere around here the finish sets in which definitely has spiciness but a really pleasant mouthfeel. Less alcohol, more approaches of menthol.For me a hit, I like it. Who stands on sherry stories can strike here without hesitation.

Read full review →The sherry finish definitely arrives on both the nose and the palate. However, it suits the Beenleigh very well, even if it pushes the usual flavors of the distillery into the background or takes them away completely
