Chairman‘s Reserve Master‘s Selection (The Whisky Exchange) 2006
People who chase dry, woody Saint Lucia pot-still rum will feel right at home here. Expect black tea, oak, spice and a smoky, medicinal edge rather than sweetness or big fruit. At 56.3% the alcohol reads well-integrated to most tasters, though a couple wanted more freshness and fruit. One reviewer called it a "Fruity Brother of Charles Hofer" — but most read it as tea-and-wood forward.

How does Chairman‘s Reserve Master‘s Selection (The Whisky Exchange) 2006 taste?
Aggregated from 32 community reviews.
Dry, woody Saint Lucia sipper with black tea Most tasters rate this a strong, well-balanced Chairman's with a long dry finish and tidy heat. A few found the tannins and medicinal side too much and missed the fruit.

27.11.2025 Relaxing with an older sample while watching Hellboy. ------------- A pretty well balanced rum with a nice warm punch. Nice wood and ABV integration and rather light on the fruit. Super long and nice finish an absolute must try 😊

for me a bit too much tannins, too medicinal, and barrel influence and overall alcohol relatively strong and not perfectly integrated. Fruit is missing in the taste.

A very good chairman. Strong long finish.

The last Chairman's in my tasting round. The nose is barely perceptible to me : caramel and vanilla and a touch of delicate yellowish fruit. On the palate it spreads creamy soft with some caramel, vegetal flavors, tannin and some wood, being relatively mild. The finish is dominated by licorice, wood and some tannin, but the whole is very balanced. A good Chairman's, but does not belong to the top.

Beautiful complexity with wood, spices, citric aromas, wood, tea, roasted notes as well as caramel and vanilla. However, it could have a little more freshness for my taste.

In der Nase holzige Aromen. Wenig Frucht, leicht erdig, blumig.
