Poisson Père Labat Blanc 59
Pour a glass and the whole room fills with fresh-cut grass and lime — that's the first thing people notice. This Marie-Galante blanc is intensely green and citrusy, with sugarcane juice, a little olive and the odd whiff of nail polish. The 59% shows, and some catch a faint musty note, but in a ti' punch several call it their favorite of the style.

How does Poisson Père Labat Blanc 59 taste?
Aggregated from 96 community reviews.
Intensely grassy, lime-forward agricole blanc Loved for its explosive grassy-lime freshness and low price, especially in ti' punch. A few find the alcohol not fully integrated and the finish a touch musty; not the most complex blanc.

Poisson Distillery has named their Rhum after Père Labat (Father Labat), a French multi-talented Dominican missionary that among lots of other things also improved the development process of Rhum with the introduction of Charentaise distillation, which is used to make Cognac, that made the Rhum more floral and round instead of sharp and burning.

A great white agricole ❤️

#4045 After resting this one for a good time it's a really intense rum where the Agricole notes are stronger than in the previous ones. Lightly fruity with notes from standing in the meadows in an early morning. Light floral notes and the citrus is nice. Price to quality is very good.

Probably the best white rum in this price range (20/25€). Strong and very vegetal, top in ti punch. Great classic.

The nose is dominated by fresh sugar cane! It intensifies with lime, but also exotic fruits (passion fruit and mango). There's a very sweet side, then a more herbaceous, earthy side. On the palate, what presence, but above all what beautiful integration of the alcohols. Nothing burns, it's balanced and controlled. Sugar cane and lemon, followed by a hint of licorice. Olives also make an appearance. The finish is on sugarcane and an earthy note.

The greenest Agricole I've tasted so far. In the nose freshly cut grass, lime - no trace of mustiness, but a hint of smoke. In the mouth sugar explosion: candied grass, Demerara sugar, sugar cane juice. Plus a hint of licorice or salty licorice. Unfortunately, behind it, no longer very complex. The mouth nevertheless stronger than the nose.In the Ti Punch there is an additional herbal kick. Has something of Sprite chervil-coriander - but in a good way 😉. Goes down extremely easily for 59%[

im ti punch absolute class 👍

Love it. The smell is incredible and fills the room. Best agricole I’ve had so far, even better than Neisson blanc. The aroma is so sweet and fruity and the flavor is so grassy and fresh. I wouldn’t have guessed it was as high proof as it is; the alcohol comes through quite nicely. Made an amazing ti’ punch.

Unfortunately alcohol is not really integrated, and this impaires a lot drinking experience. Besides this, a really enjoyable agricole rum, with a great price

It's very good, but I prefer Bielle in the Marie-Galante classics.

Agricole Blanc cross tasting. The Pére Labat 59 comes first. Lots of sugar cane juice on the nose, very fresh and straightforward. There is also cane sugar and some citrus. Sweet on the palate, a little plastic and again plenty of sugar, both fresh juice and refined sugar. Compared to the Dillon and Saint James, much more neutral/smoother and less exciting. All in all, a stable Agricole Blanc without any significant ups or downs. Often tried and tested in TiPunch.

Review by Mentalo
Very tangy at first, but the longer it stands, the better it gets. Very grassy, fresh, a little nutty.
