Well-liked but rarely called a favorite Caroni — even the fans park it in the middle of Velier's HTR lineup. Rubber, tar and solvent lead, with caramel and vanilla softening the edges and a bitter, cask-heavy finish that several tasters flag. At 62% the alcohol isn't fully rounded, so it wants a few drops of water. Epic Velier Caroni Tasting: Nase und Gaumen nicht überzeugend, mehr dreckige Noten, Bitterkeit, viel Fasseinfluss. Dreckiger Abgang mit langen Bitternoten.

Epic Velier Caroni Tasting 2023: Classic HTR profile, with sweet vanilla, caramel and dried fruit notes on the nose. On the palate, the sweetness is once again quite present, with typical Caroni HTR flavors and a fairly present bitterness on the finish. The alcohol is also not fully integrated. A great rum, but still only in the lower mid-range of the Velier Caronis.

Today we did a widespread tasting with very different rums. Phew, this one kicks a lot of different places. Had to add a little water after which it releases more flavours.
