A Foursquare matured for 15 years in an ex-Mslt whisky cask? Do I like that? But maybe that makes something different out of the - from my point of view - often very similar 4eck's (and no Oloroso 😉 isn't bad either). Nose: fresh and fruity, with lots of green apple, lime and lemon. Also gooseberry and a little sour cherry. You can clearly smell the malt cask (nothing peaty, a soft Highland perhaps). The freshness is underlined by peppers. Slightly caramelly on the finish. 8,0 Palate: Tart fruit predominates; gooseberry, redcurrant and lime. This makes it very fresh, but also somewhat metallic. The malt whisky also comes through very clearly here. A little nutmeg adds a light spiciness. Lime again on the finish, slightly metallic and a little salty. 7.8 A slightly different Foursquare, not bad, but the whisky cask has become a little too dominant over the 15 years.

A tasting in 2023. A very nice foursquare from Romdeluxe, where the wood isn't overpowering. Fruity in the nose, and a smooth mouthfeel with notes of citrus and ripe fruits, ending with bit of an oaky sensation
