In this price range, finding a rum bottle as delightfully silky-smooth and sherry-matured as this is a rarity. Without a doubt, it is a must-buy if you manage to find it for under 200 pounds. Well done guys!

This Diamond is heavy and dark. Immediately leather, licorice and Maggi on the nose. But also a slight sweetness of burnt sugar and nuts. This interplay of aromas continues almost seamlessly on the palate. Overall, a little tiring, but still just okay

Another Diamond Session today. Included again are the Elizabeth Yard 2003, the Two Flags 1996 and the Nobilis 2003 SVL. The TF1996 is the only rum from the Diamond Still that has been secured, because the Savalle was still in Uitvlugt at the time. In terms of color, these colored Diamonds are indistinguishable from one another. As in the session with the two ORS 2003 Diamonds, the EY here has the expressive te nose, which today seems very sweet to me. The TF is very harmonious, sweet, dark, caramelly, roasted nuts, a hint of tobacco - a very flattering profile - and a wild bacon note? In the mouth it is very mild, hardly alcoholic (it also has only 50.7%). The profile is similarly dark, sweet, nutty, with a planty note, which the tobacco only hints at, coming through more clearly. All that remains of the bacon is a rather intense smokiness. The finish is very nice, the herbal aromas become dry and earthy. The smokiness and the dark caramel linger on. The rum is remarkably unfruity, with a few dried fruits coming through. I like the rum. Not a complexity monster, but a nice easy-sipper and the finish takes it out. The style of the EY is similar, but the profile is clearly different, the TF has almost no fruit and is also less bitter than the EY.

No Velier but a very nice taste experience. Absolutely top for the price. Due to the volume and the relative sweetness, it goes down well, dangerously drinkable, yet complex and a nice journey of discovery.

Beautiful old spicy Diamond. Quite typical, very molasses accentuated flavor profile but well balanced. Not too bitter, not too spicy. Round thing.

Beautifully complex, lots of molasses, alcohol very well integrated!

Edit: actually a little too bitter for me, corrected downwards again. All in all, a solid rum. There is a slight bitterness in the taste that bothers me a little. Otherwise the rating would have been higher. The alcohol is well integrated.
