Hampden Kill Devil (The Whisky Barrel) C<>H 2007
Most tasters agree the nose is the star here — ripe pineapple, banana and that classic Hampden glue — but a few feel the palate doesn't quite keep up. At 63.2% the alcohol speaks first, then it explodes into tropical fruit and cinnamon. One member called it "young, wild and straight to the point," which sums up this 2007 C<>H well.

How does Hampden Kill Devil (The Whisky Barrel) C<>H 2007 taste?
Aggregated from 28 community reviews.
Hot, young Hampden pineapple-and-glue bomb Loved for its intense pineapple-and-ester nose, though a couple of tasters find the palate a touch unbalanced and hot. Not for laidback sipping.

Young, wild and straight to the point. This young Hampden checks all my boxes of what I expect from such a rum. Excellent!

This is a very nice rum and if you're lucky you can still get your hands on one. A fruity release with an intense palate that has a light floral note to it. The finish is very long and warm with light honey flavours. The empty glass is really nice and I can pick up very light mint and butterscotch.

What a pleasure this Hampden 2007 is, the nose is incredible: esters and ripe pineapple galore. A very light woodiness. In the mouth, the alcohol speaks first. It warms the palate. Then it explodes. Incredible. An aromatic bomb loaded with esters, fruits, pungent spices. The finish is long and smooth, the heat remains, the fruits too. A bomb.

Initially restrained on the nose and also in the mouth something unround in the finish. Needs a little time, but still a top rum. In tasting with FRC 2007 and WJ 2007

So intense that it’s hard to analyze. The alcohol burns, the balance is not its strength. Loads of tropical fruits on the nose and in the taste, but the glue is also there. Great rum, but not for laidback moments.

Nose already strong 2007er C<>H, but in the mouth I'm missing something. Solid representative, but far from being a Benchnark
