Poisson Père Labat Single Cask 2004
The nose fools you first — cloudy apple juice and melon, almost like fermenting cider, with a green herbal edge. Then the palate turns and goes its own way: less fruit, more classic aged agricole with vanilla, oak and a cigar-and-coffee finish. A few tasters even catch Calvados. One member sums it up as tasting "like a French dessert." Atypical, and that's the draw.

I find it super well-balanced, extremely tasty and drinkable, exactly to my taste at the moment. Addendum: Photo + still one of my favorites! I could drink it every day. I've lowered my rating from 9.5 to 8.9 points, I still think it's drinkable. But my inexperience and lack of comparisons led me to do so at the time.

Just got this one today and it's up to par with the 2010 version. A bit pricy, but it is also hard to find now. I love the fruit and spice that are there from nose to finish.

What an interesting, super unusual nose, slightly fermented apple juice, acidity peaks, grassy-herbal, creamy-velvety at the same time. Exciting! Wonderfully tasty and a really great facet that Agricole Rhum offers here. Typical Agricole notes, vanilla, wood, complex. Not nearly as fruity and sour as expected on the nose. Certainly not everyone's favorite Agricole because it is somewhat atypical in places. But I liked it very much!

Tastes like a French dessert. Egg white mixture meets almond, vanilla, sugar and a subtle, delicate apple aroma. I find this rum relatively sweet. A really nice rhum, really tasty, but I don't see 500 money a bottle here, unless you're really into this profile, or I'm just a philistine when it comes to aged agricole 🤷♀️
Review by Mentalo
Really strong nose of apple and melon. On the palate, at 45%, it can't quite keep up with the nose. Far less fruity, more typical Agricole. Nevertheless, a strong bottling in the volume percentage range
Review by Christoph
Naturally cloudy apple juice on the nose, along with melon. The finish is more cigar and coffee than fruity notes. Quite intense on the palate.

Very special Agricole with clear Calvados notes
Review by EUDIER Vincent
First opening of the bottle: The nose is complex and promising, The first seconds of mouth are singular, plentiful and astonishing But this fades away within a glimpse NB: after 30min of aeration the final was slightly longer, see you next time… Second time few weeks after: This time it is waaaay longer, as first expected.
