Very woody, minty nose. A touch of coffee. Apricot-like stewed fruit. Tannins. Dry alcohol. Heavy, powerful, woody on the palate. Grounded. Peppery. But nonetheless greedy, sweet, caramelized and super pleasant. A slight vegetal note on the finish for me. Woody, slightly bitter finish. Good length. Should become rounder as it oxidizes. It'll be even better. Edit: after a few weeks, the bottle has already evolved. More accessible. Less raw. More expressive. Very pleasant. Edit 2: Typically the kind of rum that benefits from staying in the bottle for a while. My last tasting may have been the best. The rum has become rounder. The very stewed fruit is very present. The wood is more mellow. Great!

I find that it is quite sour. Unfortunately, that breaks its neck with me. That's why I can't give it a better rating. I had to pour out the rest with cola, which makes it work. But it wasn't necessarily any better with that either.

Deliciously spicy... Some mint molasses and brown sugar slightly charred but not disturbing. Oily and sweet on the palate ... Alcohol could be a little better integrated... or you give it more time. Finish then bitter and woody with chocolate.

I quite like it. Delicious profile with lots of mocha, cola, wood, burnt sugar, candied fruit and some plum. There's also a hint of mint, which is a little more pronounced on the palate. Not too bitter and also not swampy after molasses but really nice to drink.

#5206 06.04.2025 Running through some samples while relaxing with the new Captain America Brave New World. Nose Wood, light roasted, spice, light caramel, dried fruit, plum, faint chocolate. Palate Fresh, round, wood, light roasted, light cherry, light prunes, light caramel, raisin, faint herbal. Finish Medium to long, wood, light roasted, fruits, raisin, spice, light caramel. Empty glass Chocolate, vanilla, light brown sugar, plum.

Un Diamond sombre, suave et très plaisant. Le nez se veut discret, il lui faut du temps pour délivrer ses arômes. Le côté sombre prime avec des notes rôties, sur le café torréfié (moka), le boisé presque carbonisé, des épices chaudes sur la réglisse et la cannelle, mais aussi des notes gourmandes presque brûlées sur le sucre, le cola et la mélasse. Le fruité se focalise sur les fruits secs (pruneau, raisin) alors qu’une légère touche de menthol apporte un peu d’air à ce profil fermé et sombre. L’attaque en bouche extrêmement douce, l’alcool est insoupçonnable en l’état. Caramel, cola, mélasse et notes mielleuse inondent le palais pour rendre ce rhum hyper gouleyant. On retrouve la trame sombre de Demerara avec le café, le chocolat noir, le boisé corsé, les épices et le fruité lourd. C’est très gouleyant, mais il manque quelque chose pour sortir des sentiers battus. La finale est de longueur assez courte, plus sèche mais d’une belle rondeur et concentre les arômes sombres. Les arômes se dissipent assez vite, mais on distingue l’amertume du boisé et des épices ainsi que le côté doux et brûlé des notes sucrées. Le profil est intensément doux et gouleyant, parfait pour un rhum à boire, mais il lui manque de la complexité et de la profondeur par rapport à d’autres Demerara.

Wunderbar harmonische Nase. Schön weich und rund, etwas brauner Zucker mit Melasserückständen, Pflaumenschale und eine mentholartige Frische Im Mund gibt er sich etwas weniger harmonisch. Das ausgebrannte Fass bringt hier für meinen Geschmack etwas zu starke Röstaromen mit sich, die schon etwas angebrannt schmecken. Es hat aber eine Würzigkeit die an den Gewürzcocktail hausgemachter Cola erinnert und mir sehr gefällt. Neben dem schon in der Nase vorhandenen Zucker kommt im Mund noch eine nussartige Süße dazu, vielleicht Erdnuss oder Mandel.

Very nice rum, heavy on the wood and coffee. Complex, even if not as intriguing as the REV. The profile is heavy on wood but also a funny cola taste that is balanced by some mint. Overall is a nice rum to discover even though maybe not exactly a daily sipper

Dégustation d'un sample de 5cl. Nous sommes en présence d'un mark SV de l'alambic Versailles distillé en 2005 donc à priori coloré. Très jolie couleur cuivre doré avec des reflets acajou. 👃 Fruits secs d'abord, concentré dans leur jus réduit (raisins, prunes, figues) qui donne l'illusion d'un boisé de vieux Cognac. La mélasse est perceptible, sucrée, collante, comme un Carambar saveur Cola qui fond au soleil. C'est gourmand sur de la fumée de café, de la vanille cuite, un côté tiramisu. Quelques effluves empyreumatiques sur de l'essence à brûler aussi. 😋 Chaleur de l'alcool, on sent les 60°. Sucre brûlé, caramel brûlé, crème brûlée, tout ça sur du bois... Carbonisé 😅 Voile mentholé qui laisse place à une dualité entre l'acidité du Cola et le sirop contre la toux (caramel, réglisse). ⛳ Bois, mélasse et amertume. Un peu d'orange confite/fruits secs nappés de miel et de caramel, cola, réglisse cuite et fondante, épices, chocolat, noix grillée, café.

The nose is very greedy. We are clearly on a molasses rum. We find some nice woody, minty freshness but especially flambéed banana. Behind, we find vanilla and shavings of pencils finely sharpened! A very promising nose. In the mouth, there is some pep ... normal at 60.9% and for this type of range of rum. We find elegant woody, nuts, empyreumatic notes but especially licorice/smoke. It is chocolatey and caramelized in profusion! A medium/long finish with coconut, coffee and spices is rather dry. A nice well balanced BDF single cask. Some may say that it is a bit rough but I like it. And it will only get better with the oxidation after opening. What more could you ask for! And what about the packaging: Belgian flag, ROA logo and prestige box. Congratulations to you Salva and Alain for this achievement. And as they say, never 2 without 3 ...

Braucht etwas Zeit im Glas.Schöne tiefe holzige Noten, getrocknete Früchte , hinzu noch Minze und Menthol, gepaart mit sirupartiger Melasse, lässt sich prima trinken, einziger Kritikpunkt, der nicht all zu lange Abgang.

We had high expectations for this bottle based on the reviews. It definitely didn't disappoint. Beautiful color, burnt caramel, it clings nicely to the glass. The nose has heavy wood, again caramel, hints of leather and sweetness. The taste is slightly sharp but the alcohol is otherwise well integrated. On the palate, leather, wood bitterness, and a medium finish. Yeah, it's good.

A 4-column Savalle Still selection from Diamond, aged 17 years (2005) for the 5th year anniversary of Rums of Anarchy, made by Nobilis. On the nose Quite promising with empyreumatic notes, burnt sugar, cola acidic candies, pine sap, medicinal notes of Ricola candy, resin, molasse, cane charcoal, thick dark roast coffee, pitted fruits eau-de-vie, and some thick cola syrup. Palate Thick, empyreumatic and astringent at first. With lingering medicinal notes of pine sap, pine honey, thick molasse (almost a molasse candy), and acidic wood notes. Then, sour candies with cola, burnt caramel, and a remainder of medicinal undertones. Finish Long, first with sap, molasse, resin and old wood. Then thick cola and nutmeg, dried ginger, and burning cardamom, both medicinal and spiced. And a lasting impression of pine, and roasted notes.

It has this wood from the nose of Demerara, quite dark with coffee cocoa leather and honey, small tobacco, alcohol well melted that covers well, bitterness that reveals a skin of grapefruit, black cherry, peach, in a humid wood with bitter cocoa.

Tuhle Guyanu prostě můžu, mám ji spojenou hlavně s parádními cola mátovými tóny na nose. Do toho sušené švestky, sladkost perníkového koření, třtinového cukru, melasy a medu, zatuchlejší dřívko. A podobně tmavě sladká je i v chuti a ta máta je tam ještě kapku výraznější.
