Schotman’s Barrel Selection T.D.L Trinidad 2006
One taster nailed it: "OMG, there is soo much sugar" without the usual TDL sharpness. This 16-year Trinidad column rum leans heavy and sweet — milk chocolate, caramel, nougat and vanilla, with a little peanut butter and dried apricot. Several fans of Trinidad rum miss the trademark mint and eucalyptus here, and the 62% heat isn't always tucked away cleanly.

- Rich nougat caramel

#4581 26-27.01.2024 Hanse Spirit This was yet another nice surprise from this bottler. Nose Wood, roasted, sweet, medium fruity. Palate Wood, roasted, light smoke, light caramel, faint nougat, light mint, fruits. Finish Medium to long, wood, roasted, dried fruit, light mint, faint chocolate.

Solider, seichter TDL. Könnte blind auch spanischer Stil sein. Alkohol nicht ganz perfekt integriert.
Review by DomM
Creamy on the palate with milk chocolate, vanilla and wood. There are also some artificial fruits akin to those in energy drinks. Somewhat unique… 🤔
Review by crazyforgoodbooze

A rum tasted at Rum Depot in Berlin. The bottle is almost empty. A nose of yellow fruit, banana first, but also pear and mirabelle plum. In the background, nutty and woody notes. On the palate, the attack is woody and nutty, followed by fruit. A slight acidity disrupts the finish. The finish is well-balanced and fairly long, with apple and pear fruit. The empty glass is reminiscent of a distant Caroni, giving depth to the aromas. A fine rum, well-made and very pleasant at a good price. Only the slight acidity on the palate makes it lose points.

I'm just as unconvinced as the new Schotman's Foursquare. Maybe it's just not the right T.D.L vintage for me.
Review by Johannes
Im Abgang sehr alkoholisch, etwas undefinierbares Profil. Sehr viel Column. Geht in Richtung Foursquare.

Dominated by complex, oily sweetness reminiscent of nougat, caramel, vanilla and molasses. In addition, pointed notes of cinnamon and pepper, some toasted wood. The expectation of fresh menthol, eucalyptus or citrus awakened by other TDL bottlings remains an unfulfilled, in this release the heavy sweetness dominates. This creates sweetness, but is completely at the expense of complexity. Remains for me just in the very good range, but more is not in it due to the fairly straightforward profile.

Delicious TDL. If the alcohol had been better integrated, it would have been over 80
Review by Piotr Ignasiak
This one is quite enjoyable, smell of vanilla, grapes, cinnamon. On taste red fruit cinnamon and other spices, leaves with coffee and a dried apricot.

ULTRA gourmand nose with licorice, light solvents and, above all, milk chocolate and caramel, giving the impression of smelling a Mars-type chocolate bar. On the palate, the 62s are discreet, caramel and licorice are joined by a nice woodiness and a pleasant orange zest. A slight, not unpleasant bitterness is present on the finish. Long finish on the same notes and brown sugar. A slight lack of fruit on the negative side...

Review by Mentalo

OMG, there is soo much sugar, but without any significant TDL profile...

OK.

And like the Delia I have no clue when Oliver and Oliver took over tdl. Sweet mess in a glass. And then the worst part is the finish. Sharp alcoholic and some kind of menthol sensation that has a chemical unpleasant quality
