Neisson XO Cuvée du 3ème Millénaire
Most tasters land in the same place: a rounded, honeyed aged agricole with hazelnut, licorice, milk chocolate and a soft caramel body. The nose leans woody, spiced and dried-fruit sweet. A couple find it a touch tame and licorice-heavy, and one felt it "drinks strong for the ABV," but the balance wins people over. Silky, gourmand, and clearly a well-aged Martinique cane-juice rum.

Despite the relative low ABV this is a very nice and well balanced rum with lots of flavour. Fruity with light wood and nuts and some caramel on the palate. The palate is oily and I really like the nutty note. In the empty glass i can pick up light licorice and chocolate.

Dried fruit, wood and spices on the nose. On the palate, hazelnut predominates, with licorice, chocolate and wood... Too sage and licorice-like for my taste. The palate is clearly below the nose. Not really my thing!

Honeyed nose: woody/spicy/vanilla/dried fruit/butterscotch. The nose is well-balanced and fresh. On the palate, the attack is smooth and velvety. Licorice, woody notes, chocolate hazelnut, crème caramel and citrus fruits are on the menu. Long finish: woody-spicy-toasty Conclusions: this is a fine product, clearly in the upper echelons of old agricultural wines. It is a worthy representative of Martinique's terroir, with its masterful balance.

Très facile à boire. Remarquablement équilibré, c’est tres rond, mielleux avec une jolie texture soyeuse. La longueur est correct pour un rhum à 45%. Noisette, vanille, café, très gourmand. Manque peut être un peu de fruits mais c’est très bon.

Nez : super boisé, frais, herbacé, orange, Bouche : très soyeux, boisé fondu, via du caramel, épice douce, lègere amertume, raisin sec, finale douce qui dure sur les épices et tabac, des fleurs aussi 2ème 89 N noisette mélange fruits secs raisins sec cajou fin zeste d'orange mandarine after eight joli boisé agricole B explosion de noisette incroyable beurre de cacahuète. Interesting but not quite integrated nose. Chocolate and wood in the mouth. A bit of hot burn so not as smooth as other Rhums but pleasant medium length finish. Cognac undertones and a bit of agricole flavour in the nose. Drinks strong for the ABV as well. It’s perfectly fine but not a standout
