Sipped neat, this Martinique agricole gives you grass, honey and vanilla up front with orange, cherry and a light woody edge. Several tasters loved the nose but found the palate falls a bit flat — diluted and a touch too oaky at 43%. A 2004 vintage from the now-closed Dillon still, aged 12 years. Balanced and pleasant, if not the depth some expected.

A rum tasted at Rhum Fest in 2024. A slight acidity on the nose sets it apart from the others, pleasantly counterbalanced by a slight sweetness. On the palate, yellow fruit and complexity. The acidity reappears pleasantly on the finish.

Un rhum atteint du « syndrome de la jolie carafe ». Le nez est pourtant prometteur avec de belles notes florales, herbacées et du tabac qui se joignent à un fruité légèrement sucré, des épices douces et une influence de cognac. La partie se gâte une fois le rhum en bouche : on a ici un rhum assez plat, dilué et qui perd toute profondeur et complexité. Un peu de fruits secs, d’épices et de bois, du caramel pour arrondir les angles et le tour est joué. La finale, un peu courte, tente de sauver l’ensemble avec quelques notes florales et de canne à sucre qui se mêlent aux fruits, aux épices et aux notes légèrement toastées. Un rhum en deçà des attentes sur le plan aromatique. Malheureusement, le prix est allé à contre-courant et s’en est allé vers les étoiles pour cette cuvée trop timide.

Tasted this rum at the Rhum Fest Paris 2026. Also have two unopened bottles of my own. This is one of the last distillates distilled at the Dillon distillery in Fort de Franc where distillation closed down in 2007 to be moved to the Depaz distillery where their stills now is located. The nose is round, dry, spicy, woody, fruity, vegetal and some sweetness with scents of vanilla, cinnamon, licorice, raisins, orange, peaches, cherries, banana, mango, grass, tobacco and some honey. At the palate it’s complex, dry, spicy, woody, sweet, fruity and vegetal with flavors of vanilla, pepper, honey, sugarcane, grapes, dates, orange and grass. The finish is rather long.

Rhum Dégusté en sample en 2 fois. Cet agricole est très bien équilibré. Pas mal de fruité qui me fait penser au raisin et la grenade, boisé qui apporte une touche vanillée . Même si l alcool n est pas très élevé, l intensité est suffisante. Jolie finale

Whisky Live Paris 2025 - to be tasted again to confirm the score and notes. The carafe and premium positioning and price asked are maybe too much for this rum. Yet this is a nice agricole, the reduction do not solve a few issues in terms of astringency and overoakiness that reduce a lot my score.

I really love the design of this decanter which matches the content pretty well. Price to quality is very good in my mind and I have ordered a bottle. The nose is fruity with grass, honey, vanilla trailed by tobacco and floral notes. The palate is complex and lightly dry with fruit and wood trailed by honey, grass, vanilla and floral notes. The finish is long and lightly dry with fruit, wood and floral notes.

Un nez supérieur à la bouche qui est un peu décevante par un côté réduction trop important, où le rhum perd de sa persistance aromatique. Ça reste tout de même un excellent rhum AOC avec une belle richesse et intensité aromatique.
