#6867 30.05.2026 The wife went to bed and now I can enjoy a few more samples in an effort to reduce the huge stack I have. Listening to some tracks by Exminds, Jo Cartwright, Andain, Costa and Maria Naylar. A very nice rum with the average Neisson price tag. A fresh profile with agricole, spice, wood, fruits, light smoke and light roasted notes.

First from the bottle that i won at the auction. On the nose: Fresh, woody notes, light smoky notes, light peppery notes. Light vanilla notes. Light citrus notes like lemon and maybe little bit of sour apple notes. Quite round on the nose. Taste: Fresh, peppery and woody at first. Then you get little bit of sugarcane notes and citrus notes. Mouthfeel is slightly oily and dry. Apple notes. Little bit of vanilla notes. Round. The alcohol is integrated very well. I feel like touch of more intensity to the palate would be nice. Finish: Warm, fresh, light coconut notes, woody and little bit smoky notes. Finishes dry. Short-medium finish. A very good rhum from Neisson that was missing little bit of intensity on the notes and maybe because of that, the finish could have been longer in order to receive higher score. I am not complaining, because i won this rum at the auction at bargain price.

C’est plutôt surprenant, mais très agréable J’ai plutôt l’habitude des ’jamaïcains Mais je me suis laissé tenter par ce sample et je ne le regrette pas Beaucoup de rondeurs, finale un peu courte à mon goût et ça manque de pep’s. Par contre, les arômes sont bien présents et le boisé est très agréable

Neisson Mizunara 49%, a fragrant encounter between Martinique tradition and rare Japanese wood. Buttery nose, with green apple, apple liana, tangy lemon and a hint of cactus. On the palate, the young Neisson identity is present, the butter is more timid. Tart apple with a hint of new oak, more cactus notes. A lovely fruity greediness. Very respectable finish, on a young, slightly fresh, acidic wood.
