Rum Nation Versailles Demerara 1990
"Not diluted despite the light ABV" is how one taster put it, and that's the tension here: a 1990 Versailles pot-still Guyanese carrying a heavy port-style finish. Expect prunes, raisins, oiled leather, tobacco and a creamy, gourmand body. Several found it genuinely lovely; just as many said the sweet finish buries the classic Enmore-Versailles character and wished for a few more percent.
The community says- Rich dried fruit
- Creamy, rounded body
- Too sweet for some

How does Rum Nation Versailles Demerara 1990 taste?
Aggregated from 20 community reviews.
Sweet, port-finished old Guyanese, fruit-forward Well-loved by some for its rich dried-fruit, leather and port sweetness, but a real split: the finish reads too sweet for many and softens the Versailles DNA. A couple wanted more ABV.

Exceptional Rum very balanced with a long aftertaste

Community Tasting Enmore 1990. No 4.

RumX Community Tasting - Enmore 1990 (danke an Alex!)

13.01.2019 Nice and relaxing evening at home where I killed this bottle. Notes. Very dark in colour. Nose: fresh, wood, roasted, dried fruit, herbs, plum. Palate: light, wood, roasted, dried fruit, licorice, light leather. Finish: medium to long, wood, light smoke, dried and, caramel.

No4 of the 1990 Enmore Tasting, thanks to Alex Kunath. This is quite a fruity and light concoction, and I noticed the lower ABV immediately. This is, however, a case where this is not detrimental, I could easily imagine me sipping this casually, as it does not go all in with the Enmore DNA one gets with this bunch. Or, at least, the fruit is adding to the experience. I liked this one!

Guyana Tasting 1990 by Alex.

Besten Dank an Alex fürs organisieren!

Schade

Cross Tastinge across 12 bottlings of 1990 Versialles destilled Enmores. Looking at the reduced bottlings (Alamein, RN, Moon). On the nose all can hold up predatory good with the higher ABv bottlings. The RN finis is well executed, while somewhat overwhelming the Versailles notes. Still nice. Alambic with a nice basket of continental fruits and Moon delivering all classic notes beautifully. On the palate all three are very approachable with RN‘s finish again being very noticeable and present - for me a bit too intense. Despite the reduction, the Alambic carries some sting while providing intensity. The Moon bottling adds quite some sweetness, yet also noctiable burnt notes in the background.
