Cusenier Rhum Rico Martinique 1960s

"A part of history," as one member put it — a 1960s Martinique bottling that nobody at the table quite knew how to score. The signature is a big orange note, so pronounced that several tasters suspect it was flavored rather than pure rum. Under that sits caramel, banana and a touch of varnish, and it drinks sweet and very easy, almost cocktail-like. A curiosity more than an everyday pour.

The community says
  • Intense orange note
  • Easy, cocktail-like
  • But: Tastes too sweet

Sweet, orange-heavy vintage curiosity A genuine oddity. Most enjoy the intense orange and soft sweetness, but several suspect it's been helped along and call it a borderline case rather than straight rum.

Perfect for

Tolle Frucht, Alkohol gut integriert, ungewöhnlich orangig.

Not too bad a rum and one i have never seen before. We couldn't really agree on how to score this one but still it's a part of history 😊
