Romdeluxe Diamond Wild Series Rum Diamond (Unicorn Tasting Kit Vol. 2) EU Version SVL 2003
Guyana fans who like their Diamond fruity rather than pitch-black will feel at home here. This 18-year Savalle column rum leans on dried fruit, apricot, caramel and toasted oak, with one taster catching real PX-sherry and raisin. At 60.9% the alcohol mostly sits well, though a few find it too woody and roasty. Several call it a "daily sipper" more than a deep, layered Diamond.

How does Romdeluxe Diamond Wild Series Rum Diamond (Unicorn Tasting Kit Vol. 2) EU Version SVL 2003 taste?
Aggregated from 45 community reviews.
Fruity, oaky 18-year Guyana cask sipper Most enjoy this as a rounded, fruity Diamond with good body and easy drinking. The recurring catch: some wanted more depth and complexity, and a couple found the wood or alcohol a bit forward.

Love this one. Balanced flavor and nice finish. Little more depth would get it even higher, but very pleased with it as is.

Also tasted on the Rhumfest. Another great selection but I liked it the least out of the 3.

Gut eingebundenen Alkohol. Mild, insgesamt eine sehr runde Abfüllung.

I liked this Savalle very much. Fruity and just the right sweetness. Not quite so dark (of character) and little bitter caramel.
Review by Nivius
Very fruity, has so right what of PX sherry, red fruits, dried raisins and also a certain sweetness with a long finish - I would like to have a whole bottle of it. Until now I have not really come across Guyanas with si a profile.
Review by DomM
On the nose more towards the dark, burnt sugar and caramel notes. Some herbs and with some time also Druid fruits. Still dark chocolate and (burnt) espresso are dominating here. Very nice in the palate. Again leaning towards darker notes. Molasses, dark chocolate and caramel. Yet more fruits versus the nose and a nice sweetness rounding the profile out..
Review by TheRhumhoe
A very good Diamond distilled in the Savalle column. The nose reveals lovely fruity aromas of exotic and yellow fruits, coconut, pineapple, dried fruit and citrus. Sweet, aromatic spices fill the nose, accompanied by chocolate, caramel, sweetness and honey notes. Slightly toasted oak and walnuts round out an already appealingly gourmand nose. On the palate, the rum is smooth, intense, elegant and round. We find the dark, heavy notes of Demerara, sweet, fragrant spices, a beautiful basket of exotic fruits, elegant oak and a truly appreciable gourmandise. The alcohol is very well integrated. The finish is of decent length, drier and even darker than the palate. Woody notes, lightly roasted hazelnuts and empyreumatic aromas take over from the fruit, but remain very accessible. A great success in every respect, and a credit to its still.

I didn’t take any notes at the Rhum Fest so a more detailed review will follow as soon as I get the chance to sample this rum again in a better context.

Review by Thunderbird
