The Whisky Jury Worthy Park WP 2007
People already into Worthy Park will feel at home here: banana, pineapple and orange peel sit next to toasted oak, caramel and warm baking spice. Several tasters call it a touch drier and woodier than the usual WP, "more on the woody, bitter side," with a long, spicy finish. At 59.1% the heat is real — most add a few drops of water to open it up.

A beautiful worthy park nose. Beautiful fruitiness combined with a more pastry-like structure. Elegant finesse. The alcohol stings the nostrils a little and suggests that it's going to sting on the palate, and it does. I'm really having more and more trouble with the 60% stuff... A little water makes it more drinkable and pleasant. Otherwise, apart from this little problem for me, it's a nice worthy park. Thanks Mike for the sample.

Tropical fruits, some spices and dried orange peels. Balanced very well if some water is added. A (above average) textbook Worthy Park.

"Very good, supple, Quite a sedate nose. Not bad for a 300th rum on RUMX, I was expecting a bit more, but hey ;) To sum up, my tasting notes: Nose: Toffee with caramel, Pineapple On the palate: Pineapple, Pepper, Nutmeg, Orange zest, Caramelized Finish: Pineapple, Passion fruit, Woody".

Slightly medicinal nose at start. Then vanilla and toffee sweetness comes. Strong and warming palate with long and somehow delicate finish. Nutty, jodine and dryed pear, sultanas notes. Very nice! Pure caribbean!

Funky, diesel fumes, tropical fruit, chocolate mousse and light soapy on the nose. On the taste: plastic, diesel, funky fruits, perhaps even over ripe fruit. Sounds perhaps bad... But is is delicious. It finishes with banana, more diesel, overripe fruit, sweet and bitter

Absolut stabiler worthy park!

Tasting of a complimentary sample, in a Benedictine glass. Upon opening, a brief, sudden malted barley fragrance. Big, fat tears. A beautiful coppery aspect tinged with dark yellow notes. The nose is buttery, sweet and salty, almost brioche-like. Spices, a few candied fruits (raisins), candied roots (ginger) and just-ripe tropical fruits (plantain, starfruit, young mango, etc.) It's quite pastry-like. On the palate, a lively first sip of Creole cooking spices. Then, a small bed of tropical fruit cooked in the pot lines the sides of the mouth. Gradually, the fruit becomes sweeter. The butteriness of the nose returns, but less pronounced. A subtle woodiness builds the palate, but remains in the background. Medium-length finish, rather astrigent. A little stewed fruit juice remains on the palate. Good, well-made, lacking a little depth.

Not a very strong nose but still an interesting WP nose. Alcohol is ok but could be beter integrated. Rather long finish. From start to finish a good WP rum, but not outstanding. I love the citrus in this one.

On the nose, you can recognize the Worthy Park structure. With a distinctive bitterness that I was not familiar with from this origin. On the palate, fruit, vanilla and caramel. Very present alcohol. Medium-long finish. I expected more, but the nose is really cool.
