Romdeluxe Diamond Unicorn Tasting Kit Vol. 2 MEE
Dried fruit and warm chocolate lead here, with vanilla and a roasted edge from twenty years in the barrel. This is a slow burner — a couple of members admit it didn't grab them at first, then opened up beautifully given time in the glass. The MEE mark keeps it a touch fruity, almost orchard-brandy, and at cask strength the alcohol sits remarkably well. One taster puts it just behind its sibling SVL for creaminess.

This one was a retasting for me as I tried it at the Wild Series Release tasting at whisky.dk and I still love it. This is a very nice release and I think it's a bit sad you have to buy the set to get one. Complex and well balanced with near perfect alcohol integration. I was lucky enough to sneak in a second sample to bring home 😉

Tasted at the "Pueblo del ron" 2024. Please read the review by F.L.O. I didn’t meet him at the fair, but I can agree with every word he said about this rum, it was exactly my impression too.

Tasted at the Pueblo del Ron Nuremberg 2024. Tasted together with Gunnar as his last rum at the fair. Thanks again to the guys from RdL who handed out the dram. I didn't really like it at first. But the longer it was in the glass and the more we talked about it, the better I found it. It definitely needs a lot of time to develop its full potential.

Exciting rum! I don't know the Mark MEE. In terms of taste, I'm relatively clear on Uitvlugt, even though this is actually a Savalle style. Reminds me of the Mezan Uitvlugt, for example.

Falls significantly short in direct comparison to the SVL. It lacks the creaminess and the delicious nutty/chocolate notes. I always have a little fruit brandy in my head, The difference is somewhat similar to the Belize 1st and 5th Draw. Still a good rum, of course, just above the 8th from Romdeluxe, there's not really anything bad in this category. But you can save yourself the three-pack just because of this one.
