CoR Clarendon Jamaica No. 10 1995
One taster nailed it: "extremely alcoholic Clarendon with lots of spices and wood." That's the shape of this 1995 EMB — fermented fruit, banana and a whiff of glue on the nose, then oily and dry on the palate with heavy oak, spice, licorice and a minty finish. Old, complex and deeply loved, but the 63.6% pushes hard and can flatten the subtler notes.
The community says- Complex old Clarendon
- Ripe banana fruit
- Very present alcohol

How does CoR Clarendon Jamaica No. 10 1995 taste?
Aggregated from 35 community reviews.
Old, fruity Clarendon with hot, woody bite People rate this old Clarendon highly for its fruit-and-wood complexity and long finish. Near-universal catch: the alcohol is very present and needs rest or the subtler notes vanish.

#4796 24.07.2024 Sampling a bit at home while watching Band of Brothers. Nose Intense, fresh, light wood, faint smoke, fruity, plum, light mint, light floral. Palate Oily, fresh, light wood, esters, light floral, faint chocolate, light roasted, medium spicy, anise, fruity, banana. Finish Long and spicy, round, balanced, light wood, light citrus, faint mint. The empty glass has some herbs, dried fruit and light banana. This rum needs to rest for a good while or the ABV will kill the more subtle notes in the profile.

Very tasty rum. Top from nose to finish. I like the lychee that comes through slowly on the palate. Very rich and great rum. wood is really still within the framework and alcohol very well integrated. In direct comparison with Rum Club and Tara clearly the most fruity

Brett! Full of flavors, power, long finish. Rotten fruits paired with some minty freshness. Geiles Teil //update: rating unchanged. Love these intense old EMBs with their symphony of fruits, wood & herbal spices. Long & meaty finish.

Mint and black tea. Very good Clarendon!

Second tasting: great 95 EMB, unfortunately I lack a comparison. The alcohol on the palate is noticeable.I like these old complex and layered rums, rating unchanged. Completely different color than the 2 years younger Jamaica Edition No. 13 from 1997.Nose: fleshy, fruity, a little reminiscent of a heavy Long Pond, no alcoholic sharpness and tropical fruits (banana)Palate: oily and heavy, now the alcohol is very noticeable along with a lot of spice and even more wood.Finish: long, dry and spicy, slightly salty with licorice and also mint!Great, heavy rum with very interesting nose, the rest is very dominated by the wood, but I do not find it unpleasant.

12th GRF, Colors of Rum Tasting. Quick and short... Nose: nice EMB, caramelly, fruity, orange, passion fruit, fresh, Palate: great fruity, fine mint, already a little sharpness, but very balanced...

Relatively moderate Clarendon in cask strength. Found him pretty round. Intensive yes but there are certainly some others with more strength out back

Got this sample for free from RumX. It’s a pot still Clarendon EMB distilled in 1995 whereafter it’s aged in an American oak barrel for 26 years, of which 23 years is in the tropics, before being bottled in just 111 bottles at 63,6%. Overall a great rum but with a little bit too much alcoholic taste.

Great Clarendon... Nice and fruity. Alcohol somewhat very present but just within reason .Light sweetness on the palate paired with lots of fruit and some floral notes.... Alcohol a bit pungent here too.... nevertheless very tasty.

At the Community Tasting Nuremberg I was deeply introduced to the world of Clarendon and have learned to love it. Whereby for me the differences between 7 different bottlings were rather small. I liked all of them. Probably it was more because of the quantity why I could not really distinguish anything. Will all again in peace individually Nachverkosten.

In the nose first very fruity and sweetish. On the palate then very complex, light sweetness, fruity, woody, spicy, with a light mint finish.

Very nice although extremely alcoholic Clarendon with lots of spices and wood.
Review by Olivia
I find the rum quite woody, already a bit too woody for my taste, and nicely spicy. Discreet fruity notes. The alcohol stings a bit. However, the rum ansich is pleasantly round.
