The Duppy Share Caribbean Rum
Poured neat it reads soft and a touch sweet, with pineapple, vanilla and a buttery finish over some light spice and dry wood. It shines most in a mixer, though — several tasters call it a great Cuba libre rum. The Jamaican funk is faint and the body runs thin, but for an easy everyday pour it does the job.

How does The Duppy Share Caribbean Rum taste?
Aggregated from 114 community reviews.
Soft, fruity everyday sipper and mixer Most people see an honest everyday sipper and a genuinely good mixer, praised for value. The recurring gripe: thin body, mild taste, and a Jamaican side that mostly disappears into the Barbados softness.

Got a 5cl sample of this rum from RR Tasting Club. The name Duppy Share comes from the Duppies which is a ghost taking the best part of rum around the Caribbean islands and is the same thing as Angels Share that is the “phenomenon” originally from Scotland. It’s a blend of 3yo pot still rum from the Worthy Park Distillery and 5yo column still rum from the Foursquare Distillery. Overall a recommendable rum especially when taking the price into account.

Lovely rum. Truly lovely. In the nose you can smell pineapple and sweetness with a little bit alcoholic odour. On the palate the prime time goes for pineapple and vanilla. Very soft rum in terms of taste but very well balanced. Only negative is that the aftertaste is short to medium and that is because it feels a little bit diluted, I wish it could bring just a little bit more flavour to the table. I had a sample but I am getting a full bottle of this one for sure. Retasting: I Am bringing it down from 7.5 to 6.9 as my main problem is that is heavily diluted and very mild in taste and the jamaican part of the blend is almost non present. It is there, i get it but it's very small portion of it. I am guessing 25% of jamaican blend to 75% barbados.

For a 3 year old rum this is an amazing blend of Worthy Park Estate in Jamaica and Foursquare Destillery in Barbados. You can taste both the estery part from Jamaica and the buttery finish from Barbados. At the price I'd consider this a very good buy and raste.

Solid after-work sipper, interesting contrast between fruity nose and spicy palate. I tried it again after a few years: my preferences have evolved, but I would buy this one again. 04.2024 I can just feel how much tasting depends on the form of the day and the type of rums you may have tasted beforehand. Had CdI Jamaica Navy Strength and Mount Gay Black Barrel today - Duppy Share is just a "little rum" in comparison ... but a good one. Beautifully harmonious aromas on the nose and palate, yet a little thin and light overall.

Frankly, at less than 25 euros a bottle, surely the best rum on the market? Little spices, a little baked apple, a light Jamaican touch and a good butter/coconut finish! Tasted dry, then as a mojito, Top-notch! Ultra good value for money.

First impressions are I found myself a little disappointed with this one. Relatively sweet to start but I found it to have a little too much of a Alcohol taste & burn on the finish. Personally I can’t sip this on it’s own but it’s fine with a mixer. I’ll keep trying it & see if me initial feelings change.

Trimmed, but a little bit of FQ and WP is there (more in the aroma).

Yeah, yeah Duppy Share :) Average rum, but still more than I expected. Woody and fruity on the nose and palate, I even think it tastes of tropical fruits. Definitely a good mixer.

... Foursquare je destilerka z Barbadosu produkujici uzasne rumy ke kazdodennimu popijeni. Je to rum, ktery oceni zejmena rumari, kteri maji plne zuby cukru a hledaji jemny, nasladly rum plny kokosu, vanilky, cokolady a karamelu. Proste prijemne a nijak agresivni chute.

Interesting nose with some bourbon cask Ed Barbados notes with light Jamaican funk. Not designed to be sipped but works fairly well, a touch thin and alcohol forward but notes of pineapple and mango on the mouth. Finish is where is presents itself as more of a mixing rum and thinness comes to the fore alongside baking spices. With cola it makes a great Cuba libre with an unusual baked spiced apple overtone. Good mixing rum and good value

Not a great example of aged Jamaican rum but still okay.

Pleasant, but not exciting on the nose. Ester content, fruity and freshly woody. Quite sweet at the start, followed by some spiciness in the middle section, sweetness again at the end - but here in the direction of peach. The wood appears again here and is too dry/spicy for me. It's nice that you dare to go in the direction of esters with a product like this. With a little air, it becomes a little more complex, but remains rather unexciting. A solid start, however, and certainly fun to mix.
