This little corner of paradise is the birthplace of Millésime 2005, the brand's new flagship which is sure to attract the attention of connoisseurs... It is unveiled to us after 15 years of maturation, in the shadow of the distillery's original cellars. A long period during which it has been able to unfold its multiple flavors. Its aromatic profile evokes that of its predecessor, the 2004 vintage. On the nose, we find the prunes, raisins, dried figs and cocoa beans that made the previous vintage so charming. On the palate, dark chocolate and pleasant fruity notes plunge us into a real enchantment. A great aged rum that lives up to the reputation of Maison JM! Source : La Compagnie du Rhum

#4096 This one is very nice once rested for a good while. Lots of fruits and nice roasted/charred wood. I like the light caramel in the profile and it draws nice curtains in the glass. The empty glass reveals some heavy wood and light pineapple.

A superb JM that plays the elegance and generosity card. The olfactory profile is very appealing, with a certain greediness on the cane and candied fruit, pastries and above all an anthology of loose spices that decorate the toasted oak and the nostrils (nutmeg, cinnamon, vanilla, pepper, cardamom). There's plenty of fruit, too, to add roundness: orange, dried fruit (grape, prune), apricot and exotic fruit are also present. A real olfactory delight. On the palate, this JM unveils its sensuality with the spices already mentioned, darker oak, chocolate and a little more caramel. Fruit (pineapple, orange, dried fruit, apricot) is also present, well incorporated into a dry, delicate and easy-drinking whole. The alcohol is not very high, and the rum is slightly watery, but the aromas and flavors are there. The finish is subtle, dry, as spicy and roasted as ever, with the same honeyed, caramelized sweetness in the background. Leather, wood and chocolate add a little more bitterness, but dried fruit and orange balance out the final notes on the palate. A very solid JM, in the pure tradition of the distillery. It lacks a touch of fantasy to reach the top.

Chocolaty, fruity, touch on the woody side.

A very fine agricole from Martinique with lots of dried fruit in aroma and taste. A pleasant rum, ideal for summer sipping.
