Cave Guildive Bielle Marie Galante Rum 2008
Agricole drinkers who want a softer, fruitier side of the style should like this Bielle. Expect citrus and orange up front, plenty of vanilla and almond, apricot jam, and only faint grass. At 55% the alcohol sits well and several call it an "easy sipper," though the finish turns dry and astringent. A couple of tasters found it pleasant but unremarkable.

Fruity, vanilla-forward agricole, easy despite 55% Most enjoy this rounded, fruity Bielle — citrus, vanilla and almond over gentle grass. A few felt it didn't grab them, and the dry, astringent finish divides opinion.

The nose is vegetal (rhubarb) and agricultural, with banana and other tropical fruits. On the palate, the attack is rather weak, like a hollow, then the aromas arrive with lime, bitter almond and caramel. The finish is fine and rather long, with fruit and vegetal notes. Another fine rum from Swiss bottler Guildive. When the glass is empty, a lot of smokiness and vegetal notes remain.

A very nice Agricole from this bottler and I like the overall finish. A fruity Agricole with spice, nuts and fruits. Lightly dry and pretty complex for a rum only 9 years old.
