CDI New Yarmouth Jamaica (Bottled for Denmark) 2009

"Just a bit more fruit forwards on the nose versus its brothers" is how one taster nails this New Yarmouth 2009. Expect a basket of tropical fruit — pineapple, banana, mango — plus marzipan, cookie dough, varnish and a good hit of ester. At 59.5% the heat is well tucked in, but the finish turns bitter-citrus, which a couple of people found a touch much.

The community says
  • Loads of tropical fruit
  • High ester funk
  • Bitter citrus finish

How does CDI New Yarmouth Jamaica (Bottled for Denmark) 2009 taste?

Aggregated from 43 community reviews.

Fruity, estery cask-strength Jamaican funk A well-loved high-ester New Yarmouth: bags of tropical fruit, glue and spice with the alcohol nicely integrated. Some rank it just behind its Perola and Sweden sisters, and the bitter finish divides a few.

Perfect for

Fans of high-ester Jamaican funk who sip at cask strength

Less suitable for

Beginners and anyone who dislikes a bitter, estery finish

#4104 This release has more bang for your buck. Really nice and intense and nice curtains in the glass. Fruity with almost rotting fruits and nice esters. All in good balance once rested properly. Spicy and warm on the palate with a very long finish. The empty glass is really nice with more fruit and some medicinal notes.

Great NY 2009 for Denmark. But in direct comparison to the CDI NY 2009 Perola and the CDI NY 2009 Sweden for me only rank 3.
