S.B.S Panama 2006
Most tasters land on "pleasant but not memorable," and a few call it downright unspectacular. Expect fresh citrus, banana and light vanilla with only a whisper of wood — several members note it drinks nothing like a typical Panama rum. Easy and creamy at 50%, but the finish goes flat and short. One reviewer needed time to get past a harsh, alcoholic nose before the fruit showed up.

Ganz schöne runde tabaknoten in der nase, die sehr angenehm sind. Im Geschmack rund leichte süsse und weiterhin tabaknoten und leichtes holz. Insgesamt angenehm ohne wirklich komplex zu sein. Schln sanft und cremig ohne besonders in Erinnerung zu bleiben

The nose is not easy to deal with, pretty harsh and kind of alcoholic but still with a lot of vegetal notes, some vanilla and herbs. Took me some time to overcome my first negative impression. The palate is not overly complex but still a nice sipper which does great at delivering some Panamanian core notes.

#4489 03-04.11.2023 Den Danske Whiskyfestival. Again a special meet up besides the event itself because we think it's a bit too dull. Had a great time with friends again. My notes. Nose: fresh, fruity, citrus, sweet, light chocolate. Palate: light wood, mint, citrus, vanilla, herbs. Finish: medium long but light, citrus, light wood. Empty glass has light caramel.

Second tasting: I had rated it 7.6. Today the rum seems very pale and with an unpleasant woody off-note (-4) Still quite restrained on the nose, the rum develops on the palate with intense fruitiness, sweetness and spice. However, it lacks a little intensity to achieve "very good". The rum fades relatively quickly, vanilla and spice remain for a while.

Nicht wirklich typisch für einen Rum aus Panama. Wenig Holz, dafür mehr fruchtige Citrus-Noten, etwas flach, kurzer Abgang.
