Clarendon S.B.S Jamaica 2010 MMW
The surprise here is how quiet 64.7% can feel — nearly everyone notes the alcohol is buried under tropical fruit, passionfruit and mango, with vanilla, glue and a bit of oak behind it. Then it wakes up: a green chili, jalapeño tingle that "explodes" on the tongue and runs long. Roasty coffee and leather round out this Clarendon MMW. Some find a touch too much acidity.

Outstanding smooth and balanced compared to other recent MMW releases. Alcohol is ridicously well integrated looking at the ABV number. On the downside this comes with a little less punch (at least as my first impression). Looking forward to a little cross-tasting soon

Nice monymusk that defies the high abv with lots of fruit, very aromatic and round, then also found this chili note in the finish. Nice finish 👍

The tickles quite well in the mouth, reminds me of a little chilies. Must say that he explodes in the mouth quite nice and lasts a long time. He is quite demanding. I find if you give him a little time, he is still a lot rounder.

Good monymusk with typical Jamaica characteristics. Especially the long aftertaste I like. Since the fruitiness again really comes into its own.

The alcohol is well integrated. Tropical fruit, vanilla, a little sweetness, some wood. Unfortunately a little too much acidity. But a nice, quite long-lasting fruity finish. Solid MME bottling from S.B.S

Fair tasting, therefore more succinct:Lots of esters and fruit on the nose, passion fruit is particularly noticeable.Quite a lot of acidity in the mouth, but impressively different with very green jalapeno note.

First sort out what all arrives at the nose: tropical fruit basket, vanilla, good portion of glue, tangerine, caramel, barrel. Toasty on the palate, a few dirty notes, long finish which again ends with tropical fruit. The high ABV is well integrated. MMW has not yet disappointed with the other Clarendons tasted so far with this Marque (2004-2015)....

Well, the brizzelt but neat on the tongue, but this time in the Positive sense, a nice bottling of the MMW; however, nothing for beginners or weak minds, he demands!

On the nose, tropical fruits, especially honeydew melon and mango. In addition, glue, herbs, caramel and some wood. Later hazelnuts join in. On the palate for just under 65% top integrated alcohol and rather on the toastier side. Strong coffee, wood and leather. Vanilla and some fruit round out the profile and create a very round balanced rum. This is also the only real weakness of the rum.
