Asta Morris Bielle Rasta Morris Ambré 2020
Sip this one neat — at 52% the alcohol sits surprisingly well for most tasters. A soft, vanilla-tinged nose leads into a dry, spicy-peppery palate where the sugarcane is still front and centre, wrapped in light oak and green, grassy notes. It's a young Bielle agricole: fresh and cane-driven rather than deep. One taster said it has "the freshness of a white" with a gentle woody edge.

Review by Morgan Garet
Everything I love in an amber rum, the freshness of the white with the sugar cane sublimated by a very light woody/vanilla note and a fresh finish.
Review by Vincent D
A very pleasant Bielle, with a sweet, vanilla nose that turns woody and vegetal on the palate. The cane is still very present. Dry and (very) spicy. The alcohol is superbly integrated. Very pleasant.

With a medium finish this is a lovely rum pretty well balanced between fruits and spices. Very fresh with wood and grass.
Review by Tom Buteneers
As I often find with agricole, it reminds me of grappa. Lots of vegetal notes and hints of grassy-green herbs, but well balanced. Not bad at all, I'm slowly starting to appreciate agricole 😅
Review by Johannes B
A convincing impression of a dry Agricole.

there are undoubtedly more exciting and complex Agricoles, but what I like about this one is the fruity fresh nose.

Unfortunately a little disappointing for me. There are far better bottlings from Bielle. Far too alcoholic, poorly integrated. Now that I've had a few Bielle Velier bottlings in my glass, I have to say that this one definitely can't hold a candle to it

6 months of maturation in tuns followed by 2 years in Ex-Bourbon barrels. That is to say 2 years and a half of ageing. For the anecdote, these barrels were on the same boat as the famous Bielle blanc cassé of our friend Antoine du Goût du bonheur de Nivelles. So can we also talk about dynamic aging for this cuvée? Lol On the nose: it's fruity-oily and vegetalOn the palate: the 52% are creamy, you can smell the cane, it's spicy-peppery. The finish is pleasant but not crazy. It is logical for a young rum like this one.
