Another super 2001 SWR! This one is a little less complex than my spoiled palate knows from other similar bottlings, but it hits the spot with what it has. Leather, dark chocolate and espresso. All nicely rounded without bitter wood notes.

Rich dried fruits and some citrus jelly notes on the nose. Compared to the SBS bottling (RX15510) the nose is more fruit forwards, while the SBS is a bit harsher with more leathery and grainy notes. I get a strong menthol note on the palate, which I couldn’t find in any of the 2001 SWRs, but also on the SBS 2001 SV bottling. Those are overpowering some of the nice caramel and fruit notes. Side-by-side with the SBS SV, the Nectar is more round and elegant on the palate as well as in the nose. More dried fruits versus a bit more burnt and dark notes in the SBS.

I find it very similar to the many existing 2001 SWRs. Compared to the SWR, it is a bit more delicate, less molasses/malt note, less depth, less complexity. Still a good drop!

Incredibly present chocolate and coffee notes from start to finish. Yes, beyond that not much else, in fact not very complex, but I like the rum precisely because of this honest one-dimensionality. A rum that does not demand too much, but most will taste very good, because it seems round and you just maybe not every day rum with all sorts of rough edges can and will drink.Recommendation.

On the nose, strong memories of a REV - but with less plum and a lot of cappuccino. On the palate toasty, caramel and just very tasty. Great roasted notes without becoming too bitter. Very good Guyana rum!

On aeration, we have caramelized burnt sugar, some smokiness, vegetal aspect of this Demerara, slightly floral and some citrus notes. 8,7:On the palate, the attack is tasty with dark roasted wood notes like mocha, leather, later caramelized burnt sugar and dried fruits like raisins, apricots and prunes.There are oaky vanilla and nuts, herbaceous molasses, dark chocolate from roastedness and citrus, cherry tones. 8,4:The finish is long, dry and tannic, dark, with palate notes lingering on, maggi pops out, spoiling a little the balance from before...

#5358 28.05.2025 Running some samples while listening to some Goa Trance on Spotify. Nose Wood, faint smoke, light pencil shavings, light raisin, faint coffee, light clove, light chocolate, faint plum. Palate Oily, round, wood, light roasted, light raisin, light chocolate, light prunes, light pencil shavings, light clove. Finish Medium long, wood, light roasted, dried fruit, light prunes, light chocolate. Empty glass Vanilla, light chocolate, faint caramel, prunes, raisin. Needs to rest for a while to really open up properly.

Oh man, old Demerara are so awesome. I can't get enough of the nose especially: complex, intense and just plain delicious. Dark, sweet-juicy cherry, tart-sweet black currant, old blood orange plus prune and dried apricot. Behind that, heavy sweetness of dark maple syrup. Fragrant cedar with vanilla and maggi come in. Wonderful.Palate: nicely woody-roasty as expected. Old wood. A bit bitter and salty at the start, also seems a bit thin at first but becomes increasingly intense. Strongly nutty, hazelnut or walnut, plus mocha and dark chocolate with a bit of vanilla. Remains roasty and dark even in the finish, slightly Maggi.A really nice old SV with a super nose and a roasty palate, which is somewhat inferior to the nose.

Delicious stuff! Very toasty, dark and bitter, which I normally rather not really like. Here these notes come together rather to a coffee / cocoa flavor, in contrast to the otherwise present bitterness of the wood. Of course, these also come from the wood here and make the 21 years in the barrel clear, but still mixes a slight sweetness among them, which I like very much. Otherwise, although somewhat one-dimensional without real depth, but still a strong Demerara!

A rich, smooth Diamond, with subtle notes of dried fruit (prune, apricot) and red fruit (cherry) on the nose, before sweet spices, cocoa, coffee and wood take over. The dark side emerges with a slight sweetness of caramel and honey. A slight freshness and herbaceousness emerges after aeration. A soft, elegant olfactory profile. The attack on the palate follows on from the nose. The sweetness (caramel, cola, honey), the dark side (dark chocolate, leather, mocha) and the fruity side (prune) are all there. Wood and spice melt into this voluptuous, rounded mass. Alcohol goes unnoticed. The finish is long, with dark chocolate and leather bitterness, prunes and the darker side of Demerara rums (spices, wood, roasted notes and baked caramel). A sensual, elegant and highly appealing Diamond.

Ja was soll man da schon viel sagen, eine mehr als solide Abfüllung die hier abgefüllt wurde. Alles was ich vom Geruch und Geschmack erwartet habe wurde erfüllt. Trotz allem hat er es aber nicht in meine persönliche Spitzengruppe geschafft, da mir da etwas fehlt. Trotzdem sehr gut.

It's very, very good, elegant, and easy to taste because it's less complex than its congeners. Lovely notes of mocha cocoa and a pleasant scent of leather. A fairly classic profile, but still very pleasant to taste 🤩🤩

Beautiful dark colour and nice ring on it. Let this rum sit on the glass and it will open up more. On the nose: Long aging has given nice, elegant body to this rum. Very mild flavours. Light prunes, Light dried fruits, Light burnt sugar, hints of cocoa. Taste: Very smooth mouthfeel and the alcohol is integrated very well. Dark chocolate. Coffee notes. Dried fruits Woody. Hints of honey in there. Finish: medium-long finish. Dark chocolate, lightly roasted coffee notes. Leather. Nice elegant, smooth and easy sipper. Taste profile didn't really blew me away, but this rum is very good when you want more aged, toned down notes and the finish was really excellent on this one.

Verkostet zusammen mit dem RX15510 von SBS, und an der Nase fällt es mir schwer die beiden zu unterscheiden. Vielleicht sind bei dem Nectar hier die Trockenfrüchte präsenter. Das Gleiche gilt auch für den Gaumen. Wegen der deutlicheren Trockenfrüchte gebe ich dem Nectar einen kleinen Vorzug.

Welcome to the dark side of power😉 That's how I like Guyana, a wonderfully elegant sweet/spicy nose that you could sniff forever. The palate also shows its dark side again, sweet with lots of dark chocolate, on the verge of becoming bitter, lots of roasted aromas, plus leather and mocha, which is exactly how it finishes. 😍👍🏻

Delicious dram. Felt the familiar strong caramel demerara notes that I’ve experienced in the past to start off with. Oakiness and a bit of toasted sugar and Christmas spices. Sweet on the body, not overtly - but very very easy on the palate. Woodiness is primary, but get some hints of candied orange on my palate. Medium finish

Oh i sometimes fear those young-ish licqorice Demeraras. But this one works just fine. Potent and strong, but really keeping a complex elegancy. I really like this thingy a lot. The palate comes with more burned sugars and a lovely brandy touch.
