T.D.L Plantation Sauternes Wine Cask Finish Single Cask (Comptoir de Vins) 2011
Sip this one neat and go in with expectations tuned to light and easy, not big and punchy. You get vanilla, honey, minty eucalyptus and soft tropical fruit, with that unmistakable T.D.L menthol note running through it and a touch of grape sweetness from the Sauternes finish. Nicely balanced and floral, but at 43% several tasters found it thin and wished for a few more degrees.
The community says- Minty T.D.L character
- Floral, fruity nose
- But: Feels watery

After a long pause I finally had some time to try another sample. Aroma itself is very fresh and minty. I noticed alcoholic scent, which reminded me rums from agricole family, but with this there was combination technical scent. I really like hint of vanilla, honey and overall fruity tones. Taste is very sour and winey and I am really glad those 3 months of wine finishing were there. I noticed hint of sweet/fruity flavor (banana maybe) but after that, there are technical flavors with combination of, again, almost agricole flavours (overall I noticed wood and leather mostly). Finish is short and not that interesting. Overall pretty good rum, I would appriciate it if the rum had more ABV because those 43% is not enough and it makes this rum wattery.

A Plantation triple aged (despite the fact that it says double aged on the box)... 9 years Bourbon, 1 year Ferrand (Cognac) and finally 3 months in Sauternes... The nose is somewhere between Jamaica and Trinidad... hard to decide.... What a floral nose... A lovely bouquet awaits you, balanced with spiciness and coated with the esters of Jamaica. A wonderful discovery. On the palate, the esters attack first, then the Sauternes calms things down, bringing the sweetness of the grape. It's a pity that we don't necessarily feel the Cognac, which arrives discreetly in the middle of the mouth. The finish is interesting, bringing the sweetness of the grape to the finish. At the very end comes astringency, but which is pleasant... A fine balance. You might even wonder if it's a Trinidad... A fine discovery.

Fruity mild nose with a touch of dirty T.D.L notesOn the palate undifferentiated with traces of Sauternes barrel. In the aftertaste again fruityA mild representative from Trinidad, well suited to approach the style. Unfortunately heavily watered down.

And here is Plantation and these 3 aging ,how to say Trinidad we find and a little Jamaican a trip to the islands .not too much alcohol and an end on the grape .for me it lacks a few degrees . Not too bad

An interesting rum, but it is too thin in my opinion! Here are definitely missing a few percent of alcohol, so that the flavors are clearer and more present! The profile of the T.D.L goes a little under

Very specific but somehow pleasant aroma, a bit rougher taste for me.
