Dried apricot, red grape and roasted oak lead here, with cocoa and a herbal, minty edge that shows up in the empty glass. This is a molasses Isautier from Reunion, aged 16 years at cask strength — surprisingly fresh for its age. Tasters love the nose, but several feel the alcohol isn't fully tucked in and the finish runs a little short.

#4014 This is an example showing that older isn't always better. This profile is different from the L'Elise and that's a nice surprise. The quality is equally high! Fruity with nice roasted wood and floral notes with some added pastries/marmalade. The empty glass reveals some mint and chocolate.

Schöner isautier single cask aber insgesamt nicht sonderlich komplex und könnte definitiv ein paar % mehr vertragen. Rote Traube & Aprikose und etwas Grapefruit, Kakao, Vanille-Gebäck und Minze. Aromatisch sehr ausbalanciert.

The nose is appealing. Strong wood, pepper. A sensation of grapes. Then a grassy touch. On the palate, the nose is confirmed. Cocoa is added. But the alcohol is too present for me. Too bad. Rather short finish, on wood and cocoa. Edit: first impression confirmed

Brings especially in direct comparison with the second Antipodes bottling a present floral perfume note, which is too dominant for me. Apart from that, overall somewhat more restrained than L'Elise, which comes far more pleasing in taste and therefore clearly has the nose in front for me.
