Chairman‘s Reserve Master‘s Selection (Collection Antipodes, LMDW) 2008

Most tasters land in the same happy place, though a few rank it just behind its sibling releases. The nose is the fruitiest of the bunch — mango, citrus, vanilla — while the palate goes "schön schmutzig": wood, funk, varnish, olives, spice. One reviewer calls it "wild" in the best way. The 59.3% heat needs a few minutes to settle, but it rewards the wait.

Impressive complexity, almost everything takes place here. Clearly floral hints, fresh tropical fruits, tea, barrel, light roasted aromas, elegant spices...this should show the aromatic complexity of the St. Lucia profile close to the optimum. I like it very, very much.
