N. Kröger Foursquare Wagemut Home Base 2022
Grapes, cherries and a winey-spiced edge from the Madeira finish sit over the usual Foursquare vanilla and caramel, with roasted wood underneath. Members call it a fruity, less-dry take on the distillery, more sherry-like than classic. At cask strength the 54.7% doesn't hide, and a few flag some bitter oak or a sharp, olive-ish edge. Most still call it a rounded, honest sipper with real character.

How does N. Kröger Foursquare Wagemut Home Base 2022 taste?
Aggregated from 57 community reviews.
Fruity, Madeira-finished Foursquare at cask strength Most tasters like this fruity, Madeira-tinged Foursquare and its fair value. The catch: the alcohol can come through hot, and a couple find the oak bitter or slightly unbalanced.

Well-rounded with fruit and sweetness. The Foursquare spiciness is somewhat displaced by the fruit and tends to remain in the background.

Here you get a 10-year-old cask strength with a tasty Madeira finish at a more than fair price. The finish is noticeable but not overpowering. This rum gets a fruity touch with grapes, apple, and cherries on the nose. Very chocolaty and spicier/sour wine on the palate, with a slight honey or sometimes marzipan note. Could be a bit rounder, more intense, or a bit more complex, but considering the price, it's quite good. The biggest downside is the alcoholic sharpness, which causes a piercing taste.

Standard Fourquare with a sherry finish. Somewhat unbalanced. Super PLV.

#4588 26-27.01.2024 Hanse Spirit These bottles need a membership to get your hands on and it's a bit sad because the extra ABV actually male them better than the regular releases. Nose Wood, light roasted, fruity, light caramel, spice. Palate Wood, light roasted, sweet, dried fruit, light coconut, caramel. Finish Medium to long, wood, light roasted, dried fruit, light caramel.

No. 2 for today. A very good rum. A light sweetness on the nose, tending towards vanilla. The palate also has a nice light sweetness, tending towards vanilla and caramel. But a very tasty rum.

Upfront: The price / value ratio is great here! You get a (slightly) above average Foursquare with a Madeira finish which adds a nice sweet wine-note. The typical vanilla is more in the background and a coconut is not in sight. Nevertheless, a nice sipper, not too complicated and therefore a nice companion if your focus is somewhere else, rather than writing detailed Rum notes.

Fruits, wood, caramel and roasted.

Nádherná vůně a velmi netypická chuť FS.

Not the classic Foursquare nose with the distinctive coconut note, but this rather in the background. Instead, relatively musty and pungent, which unfortunately became more intense with time. On the palate quite flat with perceptible alcohol and a sour note. Unfortunately, not so mine.
Review by Montana
A fruity aroma, a bit of wine and sherry, sweet. The taste is fruity and sweet, quite oily, a little sharp.

For me a slightly sour taste, but very good

Review by MJ72
