Chairman's Reserve Master's selection (Romhatten #4) 2011

Sip it neat and the 59% hides almost too well — this drinks creamy and rounded, more praline shop than cane field. Butterscotch, marzipan and dark chocolate lead, with dried dates, a floral-vegetal edge and toasted oak underneath. Most tasters are pleasantly caught off guard: it reads soft and gourmand, closer to a Spanish-style rum than the agricole its cane-juice roots suggest. The alcohol turns up late on the finish.

The community says
  • Praline-marzipan nose
  • Creamy soft body

How does Chairman's Reserve Master's selection (Romhatten #4) 2011 taste?

Aggregated from 25 community reviews.

Creamy, dessert-leaning Saint Lucia cane-juice rum Almost everyone finds it a delicious, unexpectedly soft surprise — pastry and chocolate over its cane-juice base. The one recurring gripe: alcohol integration slips a bit on the finish.

Hätte diesen Rum eher Richtung Column Still zugeordnet.

Compared to some chairman's different, fruity, seems like a young Agricole, alcohol not well integrated, unfortunately has to join at the end.

Avg Rating 8.2/10 over 230 Rums

St. Lucia Distillers is the island's only distillery and one of the most versatile in the Caribbean. Four stills give it eight different distillates, molasses and cane juice, pot and column, which its blenders turn into everything from the humble Bounty to the cult Chairman's Reserve and the super-premium Admiral Rodney. It rebuilt itself after an arson fire and is now owned by the same group as Martinique's J.M and Clement.
