S.B.S Venezuela 2006
Despite 16 years and 50% ABV, the surprise here is how easy it drinks — several tasters call it relaxed and smooth. The dark burnt cask leads: charred oak, burnt caramel, chocolate and coffee, with a little dark stone fruit and raisin sweetness. The catch, a few members note, is a thin body and a short finish that leaves you wanting more length.

How does S.B.S Venezuela 2006 taste?
Aggregated from 21 community reviews.
Dark, cask-heavy Venezuelan, smooth but thin Most enjoy it: a dark, cask-driven Venezuelan that drinks smoothly for its strength. Common gripes are a thin, slightly bitter palate and a short finish that undercut the good nose.

A surprisingly good rum and despite the age it's a very dark rum in the glass. Very little fruit in there but wood and caramel mixed really well with the spices. Surprisingly smooth actually.

Beautiful nose! A complex and full-bodied Cartavio. Alas i need to drawn the rum to overcome its harsh bitterness on the palate!
