Extremely fruity pineapple note - pure summer! Just the right level of power on the palate paired with typical Grand Arôme aromas. Great fun on its own and also makes really tasty daiqiris. An absolute recommendation in the white rum segment!

Intense on the nose with lots of esters. Basket of fresh tropical fruits. Some sweetness and (after quite some time in the glas) a hint of cinnamon. Very enjoyable. Very tasty on the palate. Well balanced with meticulously integrated alcohol and a creamy texture makes this a very solid unaged choice for sipping.

Dégustation des Savanna high ester. Un nez de bubble gum avec des fruits frais, ananas et banane. Mais aussi de l’olive et du végétal (herbes sèches). L’attaque est vive mais l’alcool laisse aussitôt la place aux esters. Un petit côté amer végétal, goudron et médicamenteux vient un peu perturber la bouche. Ensuite ce sont pourtant les fruits qui ont le dernier mot. La finale n’est pas très longue mais avec de beaux fruits et une acidité soutenue. Un rhum à boire aussi pur mais qui doit être surtout intéressant en cocktail.

27.09.2024 Retasting with Savanna and still a good rum. ------------------- #4199 Wow, this one is really good especially when looking at the price tag. The esters are there and I'd say this is a light HERR 😊 Fruity and fresh and the palate is nice and warm/spicy with a long warm finish. The empty glass has a nice smoky note to it.

Olive brine tempered by very ripe fruit and esters. As is so often the case with Savanna, you'll either love it or hate it. As far as I'm concerned, this Savanna is still very nice!

Post-tasting of the Masterclass Savanna High Ester. This is what a highlight ester should taste like. Lots of ester on the nose, also very fruity and a little olive. Also fruity on the palate, but also fresh and herbal. Thumbs up for this.

On its own, it's too smoky/umami and salty after olive brine for me. In the daiquiri it's quite exciting with this pineapple olive note, but overall it's still not quite my cup of tea... It has something of a diluted HERR.

Savannah High Ester Masterclass. Ich mag das Lontan57Profilsehr gerne. Nicht so gut wie die LMDW Birthday Edition hat aber auf jeden Fall das gleiche Grundgefühl. Für den Preis auf jeden Fall ein geiler Rum.

Le premier rhum que j ai goûté de la Réunion (hormis Charette).on m avait ramené cette bouteille de là bas .Ce fut une sacrée claque . Sur le moment je me suis dit : je n arriverai jamais à boire Ça ! Son exubérance était perturbant : l alcool , les ester , l olive, le fumé. En plus je débutais dans le rhum. Finalement j ai appris à l apprécier, pour Finalement vraiment aimer. En ti punch maracuja c est formidable.

I score rums on their own for the most part, from tasting them as sippers, leaning heavily to personal preference but trying to also keep some perspective to objective quality. So that leaves me in conflict when I score a rum like this Savanna. This rum is all olives, brine, esters and smoke. Yes, there are other notes to be found but these are so dominant that it’s almost silly to talk of much else. Frankly, those notes are interesting, not awful but not something I would want to sit back and sip. Still, this is well crafted and also so bold and forceful that it could be a mixologist/bartender dream. So I have ultimately settled on a 7 - as a mixer or as an objective score it could be higher, and as a personal preference for sipping it could be lower.

Einzigartige und verrückte Nase nach überreifer Erdbeere, Ananas und Banana, Fleisch und jede Menge pflanzlichem Gemüse (Olive). Durchaus vergoren, was es speziell macht. Im Mund und Abgang extrem Ananas, würzig (salzig) und wiederum pflanzlich. Als weißer Rum für den puren Genuss fraglich, wenn dann zur Demonstration, dass auch Olivengeschmack als Rum möglich ist :-)

Coole Nummer. Oliven und Salzlake in der Nase. Erinnert mich an Poulet au Citron und Blätterteig. Im Bouquet leicht Hampden-ig. Pur wird er insbesondere mit ein wenig Wasser wesentlich gefälliger. Tolles Preisverhältnis. Langer Abgang.

Savanna Masterclass Der Lontan kommt wesentlich angenehmer rüber als sein starker Vorgänger TRAD G. Schon mild mit Ananas und anderen tropischen Zitrusfrüchten. So genau kann ich die nicht mehr rausfiltern bei dem Tasting.

Unzweifelhaft ein guter Mixer und für diesen Zweck wird er Mal auf der Einkaufsliste landen künftig. Tolle nicht enden wollende Ananas die durchweg präsent ist. Man könnte ja fast meinen das sei hier ein Arrange so deutlich ist der Geschmack. Für die Bar daheim unbedingt zu empfehlen.

Un rhum grand arôme de base mais bien équilibré dans les saveurs. Le nez démarre sur les fruits très mûrs, voir fermentés, sur la banane et l’ananas. L’olive et les esters (polish notamment) viennent compléter le panel. Il y a un léger aspect fumé qui vient accentuer le côté intense du rhum aux narines. L’attaque en bouche est très fruitée, notamment sur les fruits rouges (fraise) et tropicaux (ananas, mangue). Le rhum devient plus onctueux et épais en bouche en gagnant du gras. Les esters, les notes végétales et la saumure d’olive se font plus présents en fin de bouche. Les notes épicées et fumées donnent un surplus de caractère au palais. Les arômes sont homogènes, sans que l’un supplante l’autre. L’alcool est bien intégré. La finale est de longueur correcte sur l’ananas très mûr, la saumure d’olive et les notes pimentées. Elle est chaude et conserve une bonne intensité aromatique au palais. Un profil bien amené mais qui doit être encore meilleur en cocktails.

The Lontan 57.5 not only comes across very well in a daiquiri, I also enjoy it on its own. Although the aromas of pineapple and overripe berries are much milder than in the HERR, they are complemented by an olive note that I find very appealing and fitting.

Die Nase eine schöne reife Ananas. Der Geschmack dann zusätzlich noch floral pflanzlich. Ein sehr aromatischer rumder wirklich spaß macht. Eben eine falsche bestellt. Ist wahrscheinlich ein wahnsinniger mixer.

First time trying Reunion island rhum at Bar Rumhead at Tokyo. Edit: batch 7 On the nose: very high ester, pineapple being the main flavour. On the taste: Pineapple upfront and being main flavour tha i got from this rhum. After few sips i got hints on odd flavour of ketchup. Very pleasant to sip in overall. I think i may have to buy this bottle. For sipping and maybe to try it in Daquiri

Klebstoff, Lack, Politur, und was weiß noch für Benzinbasierte Farbenentferner 😂 Der Duft ist schon hatdcore. Am Gaumen dann eher positiver Natur, fruchtiger, sogar leicht süß, pflanzlich. Als Mixer sehr gut. Pur muss nicht sein, geht aber sehr gut runter. Alkohol super eingebunden

Eine richtige Oliven Bombe in der Nase. 💣 Im Geschmack ist die Olive auch dominant, aber es kommt ordentlich Ananas hinzu. Beides ist deutlich präsent und die anderen Noten ergänzen das Ganze harmonisch. Es gibt auch eine leichte Fleischnote, aber in vertretbaren Maße. Auch vom Preis her ein echter Knaller!

Bin bei diesem Rum etwas zwiegespalten. Einerseits liebe ich diese einzigartige Komplexität von fleischigen Noten, die fast an Barbecue denken lassen, Fruchtestern von süsser Ananas und überreifen Erdbeeren, frischer Minze, mineralischen Aromen von Olive und etwas Jod…die Komplexität ist aussergewöhnlich. Andererseits ist das an der Grenze dessen, was bei mir als harmonischer Genuss durchgeht. Leichte Abzüge in der B-Note ob meiner subjektiven Präferenzen, objektiv betrachtet aber ein Aromenspektakel, das man nicht häufig ins Glas bekommt.

Ein ungereifter Rum, ein wirklich wunderbarer Grand Arôme, der eine Menge mitbringt bei einem sensationellen Preisleistungsverhältnis! Zitronige Noten in der Nase, die Platz machen für grasige, pflanzliche Aromen die zu einer geilen Mischung aus Salzlake und grüner Olive übergehen. Auf der Zunge kommt funky Ester mit gegorener Ananas, tropischen Früchten und hinten raus einer würzigen Note, muss der Kracher in Daiquiris sein!

Huge rotten pineapple vibe here. Some apricot and banana. Very potent esters. Pours water white. In the mouth, everything on the initial aroma really takes off into the stratosphere. Fermented pineapple on a whole new level. You'd only need to add coconut to this to make it a pina colada. Maybe a hint of olive. There's a hint of nail polish on the end too. Medium finish. It's intense. Not sure I'd drink it again straight but would be fun as a mixer. Sample from bottle split.

Olive on the nose and in the mouth! Me, who doesn't like it in general, I don't mind it here! The fruity blend has a lot to do with it: very present at the start, it quickly dissipates and blends into the fruity mix.

Hell yea, this is some lovely Grand Arôme from Savanna! Typical brine-ish nose with olives, fermented fruits, and of course quite medicinal and chemical notes too. But oh boy, the taste! Full, intense, fruity (sweet tropical fruits and citrus). It even felt like it coats my tongue with a thin layer of "oilyness". Its not oily in a direct sense, but this is the best way I can describe it.

For a white rum: quite incredible. Beautiful nose, rich in aromas, tapenade, glue, traces of fruit. On the palate, round, silky, despite its 57.5 degrees, smoky, aniseed flavor. Long finish. Recommended

19.11.2025 Casa Havana Praha for about 10 minutes we couldn't tell what we smelled in the aroma most probably blue cheeses and a bit too ripe bananas flowing, it's not identifiable at all, it's absolutely macabre the taste is similar to the smell brutal extreme, like when they burn blue cheese and put green olives in it, it's a total mess!!! The taste twists the whole body and then stays in the mouth for a long time

This is a deep and complex rum that really shines, a lot of honey sweet aroma with a hint of smokyness. This is the most unusual lontan out of the flight. It lingers endlessly but in the end I like batch 4 just a bit better. Nice funk
