Very different Spanish style rum. It is really solid in the profile, Spanish style, blended rum. Vanilla, rubber, leather, coffee, tobacco, baked pineapple, orange peel, fermented fruit Very well integrated alcohol Nicaragua and Guyana added gives funk and medicinal/rubber notes Ex bourbon, mollasses based, straight aged(not solera) It’s the first time I had a chance to try it.

#4638 08.03.2024 Tasting with Romhatten. Nose Light, light wood, fruity, glue, floral, wood, light caramel, earthy. Palate Wood, light roasted, faint smoke, medium dry, perfume, floral, Finish Medium to long, perfume, wood, tannins, warm, bourbon, tobacco. There is a strong perfume note on the palate and finish and I really didn't like that.

Read full review →However, this really is well worth trying. It is much more in keeping with the type of rum I enjoy. It has a really nice balance despite it's intense flavours and doesn't have any "bum" notes. At £70 it is also well priced for a 15 Year Old Cask Strength...
